  Laurence and Bernard were very friendly. We called them at the last minute to add an other bed (for my Italian friend) and everything was set up when we arrived. We asked about the area (wineries and castles) and they gave them some good tips. Laurence and Bernard speak french, english and Italian fluently.   Hotel Grand Monarque could not be better situated if you want to visit the chateau at Azay-le-Rideau. It's right at the heart of a beautiful town, but the cool courtyard and strong walls create a perfect haven. If yo - The location is very central. The hotel room was very quiet, with a tranquil view. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom nicely fitted. The hosts were pleasant and helpful, and responded to my requests very effectively. The public parking was just across the street.

  Azay le Rideau is a lovely town and the Ombre d' Azay was the perfect place to stay. The accomadation was terrific value for money and the Owner and her family could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Our room was excellent and the breakfast very French.
