  We love to stay in this apartment as the room is spacious with many kitchen equipments (except water boiler). My dad could take care of himself with cooking tools while my mom and I were not around. The hotel is a bit outside the city, but excellent location if you have a car as it is next to a large shopping center and a short drive to the historic Carcassonne. The only downside to the hotel is that the signs to get there is a bit small. We totally overlooked - It was more like a U.S. motel than any of the 20+ hotels where we have stayed in Spain and France. Because we were traveling by car, this was wonderful! It was an easy drive from the hotel to La Cité and the castle. If you are not driving to Cascassonne, this is not where you want to stay. The hotel is new and spacious.

  This was well situated within easy walking distance of the castle, and with a shockingly good bakery right across the road. The room was tidy and clean, and the beds were very confortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and serviced the room daily. They also were very patient with my schoolgirl French. We didn't try the breakfast ( thank... what people say » s largely to the all too tempting cakes on offer across the road), but it did look like a good selection and seemed very popular. It was very good val - Great price, free secure carpark comfy bed and its a 15min walk to La Cite. But In the hot summer sun the walk to La Cite is punishing. No footpath or shelter, older travelers should be careful. Because of this we drove our car back to La Cite at 8pm, and the was free at this time in the evening.

  Le Passage was excellent! I was somewhat nervous staying in carcassonne after reading online you should stay 1 night maximum but we ended up extending our stay! Very easy walk to old cite and easy drive from motorway for daytrips around area. Cathy is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are gorgeously set up.
