Beautiful Hotel set in the old quarter of Bordeaux excellent for seeing the sights of the city. Very conveniently located three star hotel with an obliging staff. I would stay here again.free wireless internet, wonderful location, helpful staff, recommended great restaurants. It was in an excellent position for shops, cathedral, museums Opera House and cafes.Good location / Staff always friendly, polite and helpful. Central ocation, but quiet. Very good value for money. Some of the staff were friendly- others not so helpful.The WLAN did not work around the rooms (only in the lobby) when we arrived. We have asked the staff and they made it fix in less than 24 hours. First room looked out on an airshaft -- but good for someone who wants a really quiet room.loud, lively street if windows are open at night...but that is due to good location. The view from the window was a wall, but that was no problem.Breakfast expensive, but this was not a problem as we did not want a large breakfast and went to nearby cafes for coffee and a light breakfast. Everything was lovely. The noise from the street and the bars is definitely a serious problem. Even though our 2 rooms were on the 3rd floor we still had to close the windows, and even then it could be heard. This continued from midnight until 3am but we did not ask for a change of rooms and were not too put out. There really is no remedy and I couldn't blame the staff. Try to get rooms at the rear of the hotel. The lack of tea/coffee making facilities. The mattresses had both sunk in the middle and I have a back problem which needs a flat surface - but not a very hard one.The computer provied for guests to use the internet was slow and could not cope with downloading the latest football news, and hotmail was blocked completely. There is a charge for using this service, so avoid it and go to one of the internet cafes which charge a euro per hour. Rooms were clean and well-designed but perhaps a little characterless. A little more spice would be nice.did not sleep very well at night-- it was very warm in bordeaux(25 degrees in oct) and we put on air con the first night and it was very noisy and out dated really - they lowered temp of air con to 20 degrees in the room for us the next day but noise of air con still effected me sleeping... From a light Sleeper!. The room was a bit cramped and I felt that tea and coffee making facility should have been available as its is classed as 3 star. the wi-fi did not work properly for my laptop despite various attempts, so I gave up trying to connect, prefered to sleep... No hot drink facilities in room. The bathroom was cramped and flooded with each shower. The bed (two twins jammed together to make a 'king') needed new mattress(es), and a few other touch-ups to various signs of wear and tear would perk the room up a bit. The bathroom was basic as the price reflects but if travellers are just looking for a convenient base with no frills, then this hotel does a good job.I stayed in two different rooms, and the second room had a bad smell coming up from the drain in the bathroom vanity and toilet. I don't however think this was in the hotel's control, and I didn't make a complaint about it - had I been staying in that room for more than 1 night I probably would have asked to be changed. The room price is the same than last year's but now beakfast is noticluded (plus 12 €) but I had been prevented of it in advance.Some rooms are noisy. We would prefer a shower rather than a shower in the bath.We like sheets and blankets - the duvet was too hot. A twin room would have been preferable.bathrooms a little bit too old. small room, internet not working. Parking was extremlly difficult and as we had a Land Rover Discovery not all the underground car parks were high enough, the hotel was a bit tierd and needs updating for the price of the room. I would have prefered tea/coffee facilities in the room and a nicer bar area in the lobby. Perhaps the fact that it is difficult for taxis to get there.Therefor making us less mobile. The toilet area was not very clean.
