The hotel is run by a young couple that was very helpful in answering all our questions and ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. If I am ever in Biarritz again, I will definitely stay at Les Alizés. The room was rather spacious by European standards and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The view of the ocean from our room was a bonus. The free wifi worked flawlessly. The hotel is very central and the staff helpful and considerate. Unfortunately, the hotel across the street was undergoing renovations, and we were awoken on our first morning to the sound of jackhammers. The work crews were fairly noisy during the daytime. There are two bars just up the street, and the noise from the bar crowd traveled down to us like a megaphone between 10 PM and the wee hours of the morning.Small lift but it wasn't a problem. General point, why cannot breakfast prices be inclusive?. early morning street noise,but more than compansated by low rates and location.Just the lack of a foyer where one could sit and read/relax if the weather was poorly. The walls were a little thin.Lack of air conditioning did make the room very hot. The rooms are not sound-proofed so the baby crying in the next room woke us early. The street outside is very quiet.I used the hotel as a stopover on the way to Biarritz airport, but the taxi ordered for me by the hotel staff did not turn up! The fault could have been the taxi company of course, but I wouldn't rely on that method in the future. I think more information on the car parking arrangements near to the hotel would have been useful to help prior to arrival ie. the availability of a weekly car park ticket for local car parks/street parking.The rooms are quite small and basic, due to its central location there was some noise at night as people were leaving bars and restaurants, the lift was very small (my bicycle had to be carried up the stairs but the hotel took car of this). We were in Biarritz on the busiest weekend of the year and there was too much street noise to get a good night's sleep. The noise only affects the street side rooms and the manager mentioned that glazed windows were about to be installed.The single room however wasn't that nice, small and not that comfortable. The room to the front was noisy because modifications to a building opposite during the mornings. If we go again we would require a room at the rear.The rest of the time the noise level was what we expected from our room position and we have no further. complaints.Not clear on site that breakfast was extra, bed was too narrow. There is no separate breakfast room so breakfast has to be taken in your own room. Any recommendation would be subject to this.The rooms are very small but have everything you need.
