The hotel is in an excellent location, has wonderful facilities, and the staff is accommodating. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the room, hot breakfasts, easy walks to the major attractions, the spacious bathroom, Internet connection, and beautifully appointed historic hotel. We will gladly return on our next visit to Prague. The staff were fabulous, the location incredible (literally on the Charles Bridge!) and the suite was perfect. Can't say enough about the hotel - if I returned to Prague I would definitely stay here again!.

Location, size of the rooms. everything was great. The hotel is very classy in its way and is very conveniently located right at the end of Charles Bridge (on Malastrana side). One very pleasant surprise for us was that we received an Executive suite instead of the Junior one we had booked, at the same price. The apartment had a very nice view of the Bridge and of its agitation. A great location, and very centrally based. Nope. nothing to complain. we didn't have parking for the car so we had to pay 90 euros for 3 days.there was working outside the hotel at the brige so that was just bad luck. The very "hidden" entrance. But this is really a tiny thing comparing with the rest of our experience there. The settee bed wasn't the most comfortable, but was adequate. It was unclear as to whether there was a PC in each room - there wasn't in ours.the entrance was challenging for large luggage and elderly visitors. The only down side of the room was the sofa bed could have been more comfortable.has no own parking or garage. teh toilet broke down and we had to move room which was a pain.Kitchennette very basic - only to make a tea or coffee, frigidare is more like minibar fully packed with drinks, no microwave. Computer in the room can be used only for browsing internet, can't connect any device or install anything. There is another normal one for public use in hall though. Breakfast is almost same all the time, but its ok for a short stay. the pillows were terrible, not comfortable at all!! Speakers for the computer would be good-for listening to songs on you tube. No bar meals. One really confortable chair would be nice, wooden ones in room only. Real coffee at breakfast No possibility of normal blankets for allergy sufferer - only down. no hot water.......very noisey guests!!!. The unpolite young girl at the reception. She is the only reason to avoid to come back at Lundborg.The young lady at the front desk was very rude. That is unacceptable and would not recommend this hotel to others for this reason only!. The shower did not work - the jacuzzi did not work and came on of its own accord during the night - very noisy. There was building work going on outside the hotel early in the morning.

You can also make a reservation in our wine cellar, serving a wide range of interesting vintage wines together with some cheese or Swedish specialities. The cellar features an original extant part of Judith Bridge - the oldest stone bridge in Europe.

Hotel information details

The building now housing the Hotel Residence Lundborg used to be called "U modre'ho Iva" which means "At the Blue Lions". The very first note about the building dates from 1336. A few decades later King Karl IV ordered the construction of a new bridge to replace the Judith Bridge, which was destroyed by a flood in 1342. The remains of Bridge Judith can still be admired at the entrance, in the dining room and in the wine cellar of the hotel.

During the last hours of the 30 Years' War the Swedes were stopped at the Charles Bridge 1648 in Prague. The building was probably renovated or additions were made around 1770. The beautiful paintings on the ceilings of many rooms probably derive from this renovation.
