Hotel Sipan is situated at the front of a 2.5 km long bay in the charming fishermen’s village of Šipanska Luka, facing west towards the unique beauty of the Elaphiti Islands and only 800 metres from a sandy beach. Several other small gravel beaches can be found around the bay.
Sipan Island is only 9 nautical miles away from Dubrovnik. With its mix of restored stone houses, luxury villas and historic churches, Šipanska Luka is one of those rare places where old customs and traditions are still alive.
You will be waking up to the sound of crickets, the fragrant blossoms of rosemary and the sea and end the day with stunning sunsets that redden the sky and the mountains.
In the vicinity you can visit a shop with local specialities, the imposing Skočibuha Castle and the Church of the Holy Spirit in Suđurađ.
Several tracking and walking paths, as well as bike and kayak rental opportunities, are available nearby. Private shuttle services are also possible to organise directly with the hotel.

Hotel Sipan is located in the center of the Island. The view is unforgattable. The hotel was very quite, and personal. The breakfast was always fresh, and they offered a lot s of choice.The breakfast was lovely with so much variety. Newly renovated hotel with nice rooms, furniture and amenities. Island Sipan is quite small, good for those people who want to spent vacacions far from civilization. The beaches are not so comfortable. Only 4 quite expensive restaurants. BTW breakfast in the Hotel was perfect.Where it is, the location is goegeous. Beautiful location. expensive internet access - hotels should realize that they can easily provide a great service at low cost by providing free internet access to their guests. Instead, some hotels prefer to annoy their guests with time consuming procedures and exorbitant rates. Lift wasn't working. we had some problems with our air conditioning and fridge but they did fix them straight away. Well, eveybody was very kind, beside one front desk person, who still needs to learn some manner. I loved my stay, but I went home with a bad taste in my mounth. Missunderstanding also happened, because couple of staff did not speak english, so my vallet did not like that!!!. The air conditioning wasn't working in my room but maybe that was me doing something wrong. Very small shower, my husband couldn't fit in it and was shouting all the time:) No air-conditioning but that's because the hotel was renovated not long ago.The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful on the whole. The restaurantrecycled unueated croissants from other guests plates. One of the staffprefered to kill bees rather than attend to guests...he put honey out toattract the bees and then killed them. He simply attracting bees todiners tables. No other place on the island hs bees execpt here!. No air conditioning
Dinner is a buffet style and main dish which were not great quality.

Information about the area
The boat connecting Dubrovnik and Šipan also stops at all of the main islands belonging to the Elaphiti archipelago and you can hop off, spend some time on an island, and continue your trip with the next ferry a couple of hours later.
Hotel Sipan organises trips to any of the local islands, as well as big game fishing. Experience what it is like to spend a day on a ship like a fisherman, catching your own fish.
There are 32 little churches and chapels spread around the island, as well as old noble residences, which are wonderful to discover and give you a vast historical insight into the island's history.

Depending on your preference you can choose between views to the seaside - waking up breathing in the scent of the stunning bay - or overlooking the village with its elements of Renaissance architecture.
All suites boast superb views of the bay and consist of a bedroom and a small living room.
Travelling information
By air:
- Fly to Dubrovnik airport, about 20 km north of the city,
- take a bus or a taxi to Dubrovnik Harbour at Gruž,
- then take a small ferry boat or a fast motor boat to either Suđurađ or Šipanska Luka ports.
- These ferries run via the other famous Elaphiti Islands of Koločep and Lopud on route to Šipan Island (approx. 1 hour).
By car:
- Take the new highway toward Split,
- then the coast road to Slano (18 km north of Dubrovnik).
- From Slano, there is a private boat to Šipanska Luka, which takes about 20 minutes on the water.
By ferry:
The 2 local companies, Jadrolinija and Nova International, run passenger-only services several times a day. You can take advantage of the local car ferry line as well, either as a passenger or with your car.
Transfer possibilities:
Airport to hotel – Pick up service at the airport, transfer to Dubrovnik (Gruž harbour, around 30 minutes) – around 200 Kuna - ferry from Gruž along the Elaphiti archipelago to Sudjuradj – to Šipan island (approx. 1 hour).
Pick-up at the ferry and transfer to the hotel is free of charge.
Alternatively, depending on weather and time of arrival:

At the airport, transport to Slano (18 km from Dubrovnik, approximately 50 minutes), ferry to Šipan, directly to the hotel (approximately 20 minutes).
