Everything, it's wonderful, the sea view, the big rooms, the best hotel in town, not by location but by everything else. THE place to stay if you've got a car in dubrovnik. (If you dont it's not so far though). Stayed at the Uvala, not the Splendid: the room was large and very nice. We also used the indoor swimming pool.Easy bus ride to Old Town. Excellent breakfast, Good location on Lapad Bay.

One thing - you do have to pay for the loungers, beach towel and umbrella - even as a hotel guest. Hotel rooms are nice and comfortable, but some of the hotel interiors like hallways, curtains and carpets could need updating to make more appealing.It is a long way from the Old Town. We found dinner menu comprehensive but rather expensive. The advertised internet access in the room was not available so unable to use own laptop and had to pay to use hotel public computer.Needs Tea / coffee machines in rooms and free WiFi. Tennis court was expensive - could be free. we were recommended by a hotel staff member to an extremly over priced restauraunt on our first night which we felt was a tourist trap and did not give us a good impression of the hotel at first. Buffet breakfast could be improved, also some soft furnishings and lighting need updating, but not a huge deal as everything is lovely. Sun beds were relatively expensive. Not that I did not like but not all the facilities (such as outside bar, sunbeds) were available due to it being late April / early May which may disappoint some people. Needs a lift. Food at breakfast and in the restaurant was basic, fresh. If you are vegetarian, you will struggle. The best option was going to the town and looking for places serving pasta. the hotel should have shutle to the old city free of charge, the hotel need little renevotion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was unimaginative and bland with heavy pastries, tinned fruit (not fresh) and coffee and tea from a machine.Lack of lounge facilities. Selection and quality of offer for breakfast. Decor was very very old. I thought that the carpet in the general areas was looking rather"tired"and stained and one of the beds seemed to contain springs that had passedtheir "use by" date.

Hotel Splendid lies at the foot of the Petka Hill, 4 km from the city centre, connected by a regular bus which leaves every 15 minutes.

There is also a taxi station at the airport. By ship Ships dock in Dubrovnik's Gruž harbour from where buses 1A, 1B and 8 leave for Pile. After arriving in Pile you can take a taxi or bus 4. By bus From the bus station to Pile you can take buses 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 6, 8 and 9. Once in Pile you can take a taxi or bus 4.
