We booked a standard room in the Mercure and got an upgrade to a suite in the Grand Mercure which was fantastic! Couldn't fault anything at all. Pure luxury, room enormous, bed so comfy!! Breakfast was full western and eastern buffet with drinks served to the table. Staff excellent all round. Use of the leisure facilities in the Sofitel an added bonus. Highly recommended. Nice hotel. Quite location in residential square with all Accor hotels nearby. Staff very efficiently, expecially we wish to thanks a lot Mr. Andy who gave us all necessary info's needed as well as train ticketing support. We do suggest a short visit early morning to the near park, to see ordinary people practise Thai-Chi and dancing.
all reviews » Great location in the center of Xi'an. English speaking staff. Very nice rooms. Great breakfast (was not included in the room price). Swimming pool, wellness, restaurants, bars in the adjacent Sofitel Hotel (both belong to Accor Hotel Group). Relatively quiet place in the city. Great value for money. cheapest option on renmin square. seemed to be made for business but i was a splurging backpacker. very nice for the price. staff spoke great english. i was able to check out at 4am. breakfast buffet decent but pricey. nice perk gets you in to every other service in other renmin square hotels. The staff are very friendly and can speek english. The room was very comfortable and quite. We found the great promotion so the cost was low. We didn't buy the breakfast so we can`t say nothingh about it. The room was very clear and big. In the price was included the gym and the spa :-). The accommodation was very comfortable with all necessary amenities. modern Furnitures, staff friendly. International breakfast was alright. The location is the best, inside the ancient wall. Nothing else to say except a good value for money. Perfect for a city tour. The hotel is set within a block of all Accor Hotels, and you can use the facilities at all of the hotels. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. We ate at the Sofitel restaurants and were very pleased with both the quality and price. Very friendly and helpful staff who helped us plan our time and gave instructions in chinese to our taxi drivers. Lovely room, great location. Good choice of in-house restaurants, and easy walking to others nearby. It's ok. People are gentle, rooms are c big and well equipped. I can also swim for free near the hotel breakfast is good and personnel professional value 4 money. The hotel staff were really helpful the hotel room was great as we planned to be out all day and to com back to s nice room was good. Proximity to everything in the old city. Fantastic classy Cantonese restaurant 50m from hotel. you can book meal to hotel bill. clean reasonable price, helpful staff. Would recommend a taxi to the hotel when you first arrive to get your bearings. Long walk from centre of town, but that was our choice!!! Watch out for the location on Google maps as it's not correct. Look for the Sofitel and the Mercure is behind that. On surrounding area Shops&caffe open late in the morning. For additional restaurants and bars (not located in the Sofitel Hotel) one has to walk approximately 1'000m (it is not easy to get a taxi, and really difficult to get one that agrees to drive with taxi meter). i put do not disturb sign on so they would not clean room. they didnt clean but they called me which of course disturbed me. minor annoyance but they were just trying to do their job. also 25 min walk from muslim quarter. Quite long distance to subway about 15 minutes walk, but for us it wasn't problem. Nothing to mention as we stayed for one night. The bed was INCREDIBLY HARD. It was extremely uncomfortable and I did not sleep well. too far from the center. Bed was a bit too hard for us. The hotel is located 2 kilometers far from the down town. Not a walking distance. Furniture's a little bit old. Breakfast was expensive but decent. My room was supposed to be no smoking but smelt very much of state tobacco. Bed was small for two. The bed was rather hard. not close to restaurants or shops. The hotel restaurant ("mediterranean") was expensive and the food wasn't good. After 9 a clock in the evening the staff wan't able to tell where to get Chinese food when we were too tired to walk all the way back to the city center. The facilities and options for using the other hotels within were not conveyed upon arrival yet the hotel billing system assumes guests will make use of such facilities. The shower room drainage isn't well designed. the water is always coming outside while you take shower. Bed was hard and pillows very soft. Breakfast not included as with most Chinese hotels. restaurants close by were very expensive. Breakfast buffet could have had a few more western dishes like eggs or bacon or hashbrowns. Not close to the subway.
