We stayed 2 nights, approximately 2 weeks apart. The first night the room was excellent and we were able to extend our check-out to accommodate a late flight which was very helpful. It was also very helpful that front desk staff assisted in printing boarding passes for our flights. Beds were wonderful. Had a free upgrade to a jacuzzi room. Jacuzzi was great. Like the scotish tudour decor as it was a nice change from all the modern black and grey rooms we have stayed in lately.Dining room had a nice ambience and good food selection.
all reviews » The character of the building and interior, the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the staff were friendly and approachable whilst still being professional. Our waitress in the restaurant was excellent and the food was gorgeous!. Location and shuttle service from Airport - hotel was clean and comfortable - a dining room staff member was excellent in assisting us with a take out lunch for the next day - breakfast was very nice -. I loved everything from the wonderful staff to the room itself and not having to worry about getting a taxi back to the airport. The food at the restaurant was excellent also. Steven at the reception was exceptional.He helped us to get all the tours organised & made us truly welcome & the indian lady at the reception evening was very helpfull. Very fast check in and check out...important as I arrived very late and I was exhausted. Restaurant staff Very efficient and friendly. Good bkfst menu too. Good breakfast included, convenient location near subway stop (15 mins to downtown) and 5 mins from airport (free shuttle), inexpensive. The staff was friendly, and although the room (and hotel is small) it is great value for the money. The breakfast was exceptional. I loved the counrty inn feel that the Abercorn had. The second night, although the room was fine, the bathroom had an extremely noisy fan that turned on and stayed on whenever the bathroom light was turn on. Because everything was so positive about our stay, I can't think of anything to dislike. However, as with any hotel, I would hate to have been in a room near the lift!. We had an emergency & the wifi was dropping on & off.So we had to use the phone.Food at dinner was pretty average (we had hamberger & chickensandwich) but the breakfast was good. A bit noisy facing the main road, but I'm used to an exceptionally Quiet personal environment. Most people probably wouldn't find it a problem. Heavy street noise in the room, some of the staff should learn basics of customer service (SMILE!). Not really a fan of Karoake!. As the hotel is on a main road it can be a little noisy if a window is left open. This is not a major issue. The area is a little bit noisy due to it's location on a busy road, so you may wish to make a note of that in your reservation comments (future travellers). I slept fine, however as the staff thoughtfully placed me at the back of the hotel. We had to pay for the juice bedfore breakfast. And only one complimentary drink;. Traffic noise has increased. Breakfast has changed from buffet to table service resulting in longer waits. Maid had access to room and stripped beds before we checked out. Windows to the Airconditioning of the Kitchenette. Small bathroom. All was fine. Phone not working. there was nothing. The Reubin sandwiches we ordered in the pub were awful! One actually had no sour kraut . The Pub service was very good. Small bathroom, very low shower head placement. Noisy. There was a bit of a musty smell in the room and in the hallway. no dislikes. Furniture, need mantenance. smelled a bit funny. Room a bit stuffy and air conditioner made an annoying noise. Decor could be updated. N/A. Could have done with 2 chairs in the room.
