I liked the secure underground parking, the breakfast buffett was the best I've ever seen & the rooms were excellent! Clean, luxurious, roomy & very pleasant to stay at while away for business. I will definitley be back the next time Im in Ottawa. This is my favourite hotel in Ottawa, and I always stay here if I can. The suite rooms are generously sized and very comfortable. The hotel is ideally situated, a short walk from business locations, from the tourist sites, from the canal for skating.
all reviews » Wonderful Staff. Location (I took my son to Canadian Museum of Nature...just down to street from the Hotel.). Very clean. City parking on the street is a issue for me. This Hotel has parking which is great but you have to pay for it. clean and comfortable, kitchenette facility was great. beds very comfortable. not noisy serving staff in dining room was excellent customer service. surprised that hotel was as nice as it was, because outside looks worn. The hotel was extremely clean. Having a mini kitchenette was quite convenient during the evenings. Also the breakfast in the morning was very satisfying. Rooms were cosy with useful space. Staff were friendly. Staff responded to my specific requests prior to my arrival. I needed a quiet room to study for an exam and the room I had was fantastic...extremely quiet and facing the museum of nature like I had requested. The proximity to the point of interest was perfect, and the complimentary break fast was just appropriate. I would sure love to stay here again. Also proximity to downtown eating restaurants was a plus. The room was great, but the breakfast was excellent. The best we have had in a long time. It's really nice to be so comfortable. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic. You always know what you are getting here - no surprises. - close to the embassies and bus stop - close to elgin/restos etc.. - clean, spacious room - breakfast - quiet hotel, quiet area. I found it inconvienent that no where in my reservation did it state there was a deposit for incidentals of $150.00 and that your charge for parking is taken out of that. Also the website wasn't very clear about parking charges so if I hadn't asked I would not have none there was a charge for parking & what that charge was. parking is not great.. because there is really no where to stop infront of hotel while checking in....also took a bit to realize where hotel is located, although flags helped. There was broken equipment in the gym. Only the elliptical and bike worked. Luckily these two sufficed for the two nights we stayed. The parking garage never guarantees a spot in the evening. Its first come first served. Drink machine on 8th floor was out of drinks but didn't indicate that until I had filled it with coins with my hands full of luggage...slightly frustrating. - no bar or place to hang out, need to leave the hotel. (assumed there would be, since other best westerns have it) - no mini-bar - only one cup of coffee/tea - complimentary water would have been nice. Beds were on a slant, room was a bit cramped. Parking was expensive and an added cost we didn't account for. Mattress cover stained. This was changed the following day. The extra $20 per day for parking was excessive. paying for parking under the hotel, I think that should be included as part of your hotel fee. parking was too expensive. Parking a bit expensive. break fast was short on variety.hardly any fresh fruits. Fitness room- both treadmills were not working :(. Difficult to get into parking garage. Breakfast - almost inedible. Bathroom fan was very noisy. I mentioned it to staff and they ensured it'll be taken care of. Additional parking costs. Had to pay $20 for parking daily. expensive parking. I stayed in room 205(I think) on my initial stay and 614 on the second. 205 - Very patchy Wifi. Couldn't get a signal most of the time 614 - The heating was too eager and noisy in the bedroom. When the temp dropped the tinniest bit, the heating kicks in and its quite a noisy powerful fan that blows against the curtain. It was continually turning on and off. On my second night, I turned this off. Water pressure and hot water were not as strong/hot as I wanted. Our room was not cleaned properly. This was brought to the attention of the front desk when we checked out. Usually, this hotel is extremely clean, and we were very surprised at the lack of neglect. I expected a better breakfast!. room smelt like b.o. Not having a lock that worked on the door to the room and lights that did not work. Also a constantly running fan on the ac unit. Having to pay for parking in addition to the room rate. Internet access is terrible.
