1) Doris! What a neat lady: owner, maid, information officer, story-teller and, best of all, gourmet COOK. Served us a delicious schnitzel with mushrooms, potatoes, veges. Plus dessert. With wine of course. On no notice! Then, next morning, an excellent breakfast of our choice. 2) Main lodge, hand built by Doris and her husband of gorgeous hard wood, features a majestic spiral staircase in the open diningroom, lovely to look at and marvellous to feel. 3) Warm wood everywhere. 4) Eco consciousn.
all reviews » The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The cabins were perfect and very clean. Doris was exceptionally friendly and made us feel like family. The food was so delicious. Would definitely recommend Glenogle Mountain Lodge and Spa. We had a wonderful stay at Glenogle Lodge, Doris and her husband are very friendly, kind and wonderful hosts. The food there is fantastic, the cabins both comfortable and cozy, and the scenery is gorgeous. it was very personal - you were treated like a resident in the owner's home. They would ask when we would rise so they could make fresh breakfast foods. The owners truly cared about our experience. The room was very clean and view was lovely. Family owned hotel so your individual requirements were met. Great home cooking! Breakfast was huge and very good, especially pancakes!. A fantastic four days. Norbert and Doris were brilliant and, although we loved our cabin, next time we will stay in the Lodge to enjoy their hospitality even more!!. Great welcome from host and all of staff. Doris and her family are amazing. Great food! Super place to relax and enjoy friends, family, etc. Very relaxing - Doris and Norbert were fantastic hosts. Extremely friendly owners, excellent food and clean comfortable rooms. The rooms were large and immaculate! The view was gorgeous. Clean. Friendly staff. Good food. Very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful. 1) The lovely spiral staircase is challenge to climb, especially with luggage in hand. Didn't like to have Doris haul it up to our room--she isn't a teenager anymore. A little off the beaten track - no fault of the owners. Nothing can think of. No negative points at all. The town of golden isn't a tourist hot spot!! Remember mosquito repellent. The cabin was expensive compared to other places we stayed. No complaints at all.
