The staff were very friendly and went beyond the service they needed to provide us with to make our stay very special. The two dinners we ate in the hotel restaurants were excellent. Walking around inside the hotel looking at the historical decor in the different rooms made our stay even more enjoyable. Overlooks the North Saskatchewan river valley in Edmonton with the Riverboat Edmonton Queen visible from our room. The Confederation Bar was a great place to see 3 wedding parties getting pictures taken on the amazingly large balcony.We got free valet parking because we have a Hybrid vehicle.
all reviews » Genuinely friendly staff - had some great chats while checking in and at Breakfast the following morning. The saline pool and spa facilities are immaculate. I received an unexpected room upgrade as well - thank you!. The service by the staff was outstanding, the porters were especially friendly. The location is great , and the view was great, even to someone who was born and raised in the city. The hotel had an old world charm with a modern twist. The bedroom was excellent -size and decor and view! Staff wear very friendly, helpful and attentive. everything was amazing the staff were courteous the restaurant food was delicious definitely staying again and would recommend the family and friends. Generally excellent upscale Hotel. Staff was professional and informative. Breakfast buffet was really good..... Beautiful hotel. Beds were comfy but the friendly staff were the absolute best. The view was great and all the staff were caring, thoughtful and so pleasant!. Enjoyed a wondrful meal in the harvest room, best dinner I have ever had!. The noisy wedding party quests that stay up very late and like to talk loudly in the hallways. Please upgrade to rum-cherries for Manhattan cocktails. Maraschino cherries just won't do at a Fairmont hotel. I didn't like the cost of the parking!!. Charge for use of Internet. Furniture in bar / lounge area showed obvious signs of wear and did not keep with the otherwise excellent standards. The food at the restaurant was extremely expensive and no different than regular restaurant food.. Rooms were extremly dated aswell as the bathrooms making the seem dirty. Poor parking arrangements. Unfortunately the hide-a-bed in the suite was uncomfortable. We checked in at 6pm and they did not have any rooms in our room type ready so they actually down graded us to a smaller room. I would have thought that if no rooms are available they should have upgraded us, especially since we were not early. The room service was excellent but the meals were cold. parking is a challenge. Booked room in advance with two beds, but they had me booked with only one bed. I then had to pay an additional $30 per night($120). Came to hotel to get a way and really needed to sleep and could hear person in next room talking on phone at 6:30am remote for tv very confusing, no info card, could not get tv to work, had to call desk. I didn't like that you had to pay for parking, I excpect a place to park my vehicle when I pay $200.00 to stay there. The tub still had hair in it and was stained with pain spot, not very clean. The cost of maintaining a Wi-Fi system at the hotel is minimal, but then charging for it is nothing more than gouging. Just one block away Starbuck offers free Wi-Fi for the price of a coffee. Why then the hotel charges so much for such a low cost service?. I had booked a room that was not ready for me apon arrival. The stain on the carpet was unapeling and also stains were on the chairs. Also they couldn't give me a time limit on the original room I had booked. So I had to settle for a lesser room the bathroom was outdated and tub way to small for a romantic night with my wife.
