We have stayed at best western on the last two trips to Canada, staying 14 days each trip. I have an elderly relative living in Canada so it makes it very easy to be picked up on our days out. It is also ideal for accessing the c train where we have traveled the length and breadth of Calgary linking up with the bus services. We intend returning next year and look forward to another fortnight staying at the hotel.
all reviews » The room was well laid out for my purposes. I also liked the fact that the heat/air unit was on the quiet side, a nice change from other facilities that I've stayed at. So convenient to foothills hospital, very clean and modern inside, huge rooms with microwave and fridge and coffee maker. Kind staff. Totally recommend. Its clean. Location beside the train station makes it practical to make visits to downtown while having thecar parked for free. Excellent service, staff very helpful booking us into next Best Western Hotel. Comfortable beds, clean, excellent size rooms. Overall satisfaction with our stay. In one of the five rooms the door to the balcony was malfunctioning and was never fixed. Cleanliness, staff courtesy, proximity to downtown, generous room and general amenities. Well managed. Everything was excellent. We've stayed several times due to convenient location. Never disappointed!. Everything about it was good. Staff were very friendly n helpful facility amazing convnient for me. Loved the location. It was near the C-train and easy to access the Calgary Stampede from there. All facilities in the hotel and in the rooms, amenities, and the staffs readiness to assist. WThe Buffet Breakfasts were great and the New England Claim Chowder was EXcellent!. Helpful staff. Close to railway station. Interesting interior design with rooms all looking down into an indoor courtyard; breakfast buffet included in our stay was substantial and had a very good selection; nice and close to C-train and the u of c; balcony in room (shared by all rooms on floor but still nice to have access to fresh air). Hotel located 10 min. away from downtown (by car). Breakfast was good. Reception staff very helpful. The location was right by the children's hospital which is why we were in Calgary to begin with. The room was very quiet surprisingly even though the hotel was full. Location to university of calgary, comfortable beds, clean sheets. Most of the staff have a wonderful style. The beds are a little too soft for my taste, but I'm sure that others like them. Staff was not bad but could do much better. Breakfast was very basic. Three persons in my room having normal conversation when the desk clerk advised us that we were making too much noise which we deny. The telephones in the room did not work. I had booked five rooms for our use for three nights. One guest had to leave early before the third night but the front desk did not allow cancellation of the room without going through "Booking .Com". All was fine!. Well I didn't find anything that was bad All was good Maybe one jacozi was not ready lol hahaha but that's ok. All 4 floors of rooms overlook the pool. I didn't see anyone using it and I certainly wouldn't since everyone could see you in the pool and on the chairs around the pool. found a perked coffee in the coffee maker when I tried to brew my cup of coffee in the room. Looks like room was not thoroughly cleaned or the cleaner actually perked coffee using that in the room and forgot to remove it afterwards. ('cause next morning I spotted one of the cleaners came out from another room with a cup of creshl made coffee in ehr hand.). charge for underground parking. The pool was a super awkward location being in the middle of everything. It felt like everyone was watching me swim. Very uncomfortable for a woman. It also would've been nice to have the bar open all night or at least later. We arrived back from a concert at midnight and would've like a beer but it was closed so had to go to Denny's. Not strong WiFi. I wish the hot tub worked. Breakfast Buffet Closes Too Early. a little pricey. The grumpy front desk staff was disappointing. Other than that the rest of my dislikes are kind of picky, but...the in-room movie rental feature was not operating; facilities were clean but very dated; ceiling in the central area of the building is cracked and peeling from water damage. Maybe from leaky skylights or humidity from pool? Strong chlorine smell in the building from the pool and hot tub being in the center court of the building. Too expensive. Hotel and rooms needs an urgent renovation. Room cleanliness very poor, all switchers were dirty and the floor carpet was not very clean. Will not reccomend anyone. My key kept not working and the lady at the front was just rude and rolled her eyes at me when I asked for assistance. Thought the price high for the age/condition of the place. Boogers stuck in tge shower curtain, filthy bathroom floor. Wifi did not work properly on second night of my stay and this was a major issue for me. Access to C-train is awkward. Breakfast fairly poor, but standard - you could do better. The reaturant has awful staff and awful food. there is some noise, because of using the cutting machine. my baby can not sleep. this hotel for comfortable and not workshop. Taxes were not included 'total sum' of the bill!. Raw meat at the all inclusive breakfast. Way too expensive for what you get. Could of been in a way nicer hotel.
