I liked everything - starting with the fabulous location - literally next door with the Balcic castle (and our suit actually looked into the castle's gardens), going on to the sea that was just below the balcony, the huge room and equally huge bathroom, the luxurious suit... Simply fantastic. Excellent rooms, VERY comfy beds and pillows. Large bath in the bedroom so you can have a soak and watch TV or listen to music on the 100-or-so TV channels. Full-size walk-in shower with good water pressure. Right on the promenade and the boardwalk. Spa treatments were amazing!.
all reviews » We enjoyed the position of the hotel with the room balcony near the sea side. Also the hotel restaurant and the swimming pools are great. The people from the reception were very kind and helpful. For sure we will return here in our next vacations. The hotel is ideally placed, on the beachfront, directly adjacent to the Castle ( which is pretty much the reason to visit Balcic in the first place). Although on the beachfront, it is separated from the other hotels so it' significantly quieter. Nice hotel and design, quite big rooms all with sea view and terrace. The sea is very close... I liked the wooden floor on the terrace and the spa. Mariana at the reception was very helpful and kind at all times!. The room was superb, with glass walls and sweeping views of the sea and the beach. The prices for food and lodging were fantastic. Overall, a great quiet resort if you detest loud clubs and beach crowds. The location is great. The sea is like 30 meters away from your balcony (all rooms have sea view). The Queen's Mary Castle (Villa) and the botanical garden is 50 meters away. It was simply excellent, like hospitality, services and facilities. I can speak about our staying there in superlatives. Highly recommended. Hotel rooms were lovely. Most of the staff very friendly and helpful. Location was great near to beach and bars and restaurants . View, food, staff & rooms were all excellent. The indoor swimming pool is rather tiny. Pool area was a little lacking in maintenance - a few weeds and cracked tiles, but nothing to put me off going again. ** Parents with children - don't let your kids browse the TV channels, there are two hard-core XXX channels (68 and 69) which are uncensored ! **. Maybe the hotel should arrange a small beach with sand as the current entry point in the sea is not very friendly to small children. The breakfast is plain and simple bad. It's not buffet,but the " choose one of the 4 options below" type. The options are all bad, and when they actually bring you the food, it gets worse ( cheap, unhealthy, unsavory). The waiters are especially less serviable than the rest of the entire city. For example, at 10:02 we were asked if we understand what "breakfast untill 10:00 means) (!!). The staff and management needs some improvement - not all the employees are properly trained. The internet was either slow or not working at all. More flexibility and customer care would be appreciated (my car had problems so we HAD to stay few hours more in the hotel until we received a new tire. Of course we had to pay extra for 2-3 hours late checkout...). The Internet didn't work half the time or it took ages to load text pages. Regina Maria is somewhat secluded (15-minute walk) from New Beach, where most of the shops and restaurants are. The hotel is hard to find and requires driving through a pedestrian seafront. Wasps are everywhere. Except the receptionists we had difficulties in speaking in EN/DE/FR. But in each case we could find a "common language" to communicate as the staff was so friendly. Would have preferred buffet breakfasts. Some of the waiters could have been better trained in customer service. The price. A little bit small bathroom;. A lot of noise coming from the restaurant (there was a banquet or something) until late hours. Another thing were the thin walls between rooms.
