The staff are so friendly and helpful. I had a great time staying here. There is a small swimming pool which is lovely. In the area itself, there are some local shops and bars that make a pleasant change from the tourist areas. I lked the enclosed privacy. Breakfast always on time. Lots of pots and pans to use when cooking a meal. The staff were always kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Views from the roof of the Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. The people working there are great. The staff were really friendly. Breakfast was good. The room was large. Pretty surroundings. nice place, friendly stuff. fairly good hostal, nice pool area/garden and good views (from communal terrace) staff are really nice, friendly and helpful. The stuff, the stuff and the stuff. Also the pool is gold on hot days (almost everyday haha). Nothing. This place has great potential, they just failed to make it work. It has a lot of potential but has failed on the basics!. Cool location. The pool could have been a bit cleaner. The hostel isn't very well sign-posted from outside so it is difficult when you arrive by taxi at night to know that you are in the right place, but maybe that is for security reasons. Location - hard to find it.. taxi is needed. The water wasn´t working for one day, but they really found a creative solution to make showering possible. so it was fine. Laundry Service was poor. Little far. The shower/toilet rooms were quite busy and one in particular was quite dirty at times given so many people were using it. The hostel is up a steep hill, not the best location to get to other places although it is really close to Corcovado and the 133 bus goes up and down Rua Alice from Largo do Machado. other noisy guests fighting and screaming spoiled the stay somewhat..... shared bathrooms could be cleaner. The breakfast was really poor just coffee bread jam and cheese, the location is kinda far from everything, too many moskitos. Everything so dirty, toilet's dosent work, large music all night until the morning etc etc etc.... They failed to get the basics right. Four loos for around 20 people, is a bit low, then block two of them and leave them for 2 days and it get ridiculas. Also breakfast never had enough food for people. Not enough loos, block two of them for 2 days and you get smelly blocked and few facilities! This place has a lot of potential but it just isn't working! It needs cleaning and issues like loos and no breakfast sorting!. Sickly green water in pool, general filthiness of the place, staff who doesn't answer phone (called 11 times over 6 hours before anyone picked up); this is a flophouse cashing in on upcoming World Cup and Olympics, pretending to be a hotel.
