An excellent hotel: very good value, friendly staff and located in an interesting area of Liege. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The area looks like a medina in North Africa, with a lot of noise and smells like hell. No inviting restaurant around except cousous or kebabs. There is a small amount of traffic noise.The location means that there isa lot of noise in the area which makes sleeping at night a bit difficult but that has to be balanced against the convenience of the location. Lack of stand up shower with curtain for this room. Was a bath tub withshower attachment, but I was ok with it since a bath is relaxing once ina while. Some people may be surprised by this.The quality of the beds was not that good, noisy area at night. The hotel was undergoing reservations while we were there. One night the electricity kept going off and our television didn't work.....suspect that will be addressed once the reservations are complete. I was surprised that we weren't offered a discount for the inconvenience....we didn't ask for one.Very thin walls and very noisy. We had 2 drunk Finns in the room next to us who decided to run a bath at 1 a.m.! However, hotel moved us to another room promptly. But this is definitely a 2.5 - 3 star hotel and we normally prefer 4 star so were a bit disappointed with the rooms and facilities. Good value for money though at a very busy time (Belgian GP at Spa). There was little hot water for shower, due to refurbishing. WiFi signal was limited only on the ground floor, therefore no use in the room.In the area we felt unsafe, it was also very noisy during thenight - maybe ok for young people but no good for families or moremature people. The coridors are black and dusty. The rooms walls are in paper. Your neighbours are in your room. I was awaken at 2 a.m by neighbors discussing and lqughing. I could follow the conversation as if they were in my room.
