The hotel has an exellent location next to Grand Place, in the middle of the most vibrant part of Brussels. It is located on the nice square. The staff is friendly an helpful, room was clean and warm,and was facing a nice square. The hotel is also close to the metro station. This was definitely good value for money, me and my daughters (18 and 21) enjoyed our stay at the Moon Hotel greatly and would highly reccommend it.
all reviews » The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are all multilingual and very knowledgable about the surrounding area and have suggestions about what to do in the Brussels area. The rooms are very clean and you get a real good value for your euro especially compared to the prices of other hotels in the same area. The Moon hotel is a nice and cosy hotel in a narrow, historical kind of Belgian old house at an idyllic, central square. The room is modern and could just as well have 3 stars. The personnel is welcoming and the location is great; just a few steps from the Brussels Centraal railway station and the fantastic Grote Markt is just around the corner!. An extra blanket for the bed would be nice. there is no lift. The breakfast room is tiny and at 7am, three big strong young men were 'scarfing' down what was to be had. Crowded with only four of us in the space!. local taxi drivers do not seem to know where it is ! this was a little disconcerting at first, especially as there is a taxi rank outside the hotel door! suggest the hotel puts a better description of how to find them on the website. A little on the basic side but for a short stay would not be a problem.The breakfast room was very very small, and the food just about ok. Not a problem though when there are so many cafes on the doorstep. Climbing two flights of stairs (we were warned), cracked bathroom sink(which leaked water onto the floor), tiny shower/bathroom with no hooksor place to hang/place clean/dry clothing. American guests should alsoknow to bring your own washcloth to Europe - they are not provided. Bedwas comfortable, pillows were not!. we arrived and i requested a double/twin room. it was a misunderstanding, they said they do not have availability then even though i reserved it about 2 months in advance. i even showed the reservation. they ended up giving us an extra room but we had to pay for it (with a tiny discount). Rooms are cramped, it was a good thing we only stayed there for one night. When we checked in the clerk took our reservation notice which showed 65 Euros/nite. When we left, clerk demanded 75 Euros/nite, and couldn't find our notice that we had to give him upon check-in. We refused to pay the extra - clerk got upset - he made a copy of another piece of paper we had, and wrote the bill for 65/nite. We left unhappy with only the last 10 minutes of our stay.The bathroom was tiny. If you are a big person you can barely use the toilet and you cannot take a shower. There was a horrible sewage smell in the bathroom, but it only appeared on the second day.lack of decor style, very small wash basin space in the bathroom. too many stairs and a bit expensive for what you got. Room a bit cramped. No hooks anywhere. Cups in bathroom. Breakfast was sober but okay. room didn't cleaned before arriving, floor messy, breakfast at sundays is left from saturday. arrow stairs difficult to access with luggage, little brakfast room, room not tidy enough (shower, toilet). air conditioning would be nice. You cant really open a window because of the outside noise during night.the breakfast selection, is very poor. much noisy due to face the market. Did not explain use of heating, could not have possible guessed in a million years, did not provide, remote control for TV and could not receive phone calls because the telephone set was set to off mode(too late when I discovered). Not clean, but not the worst situation.Breakfast very basic, accomodation very small.
