Astoria is ancient hotel with good tradition of services. Helpful and attentive staff, comfortable and lovely room, location in the centre - near Opera, museums, nice restaurants and cafe. Wonderful staying! We are more than happy with that choice. Besides we booked executive double room but finally were granted junior suit as it shown on the picture. The location of this hotel is ideal, two minutes walk to the nearest underground. The staff are friendly and very helpful. You can buy your underground tickets from the reception desk. We had a large bedroom, with sofa and armchair (the sofa became a double bed which my 8 year old son slept on) Children up to the age of 12 stay for free.

I find that unusual. Also, the clerks had a very formal business like attitude that seemed a bit cold. noise of the garbage car in the early morning. there was not air condition in the room although it published that there is. the isollatin of the room was not good you could here noise from the steet. a newer furniture; wifi in rooms; more space in the one-bed room. The room was too hot and no air conditioning was provided. I was very surprised to find that this four star hotel had no air onditioning in the rooms. Fortunately we didn't need it, but if it had been very hot outside I would have had an uncomfortable stay and a poor opinion of the hotel. Americans would naturally assume that an hotel rated with four out of five stars would have air conditioning. I will warn my friends in Budapest. The rooms were a little small. Unfortunately there are works out in the street so the noise starts around 6 AM. If you go there before the year end, make sure you get an interior room.No air conditioning and although the room was large it was too hot.
