The whole weekend was excellent. My negative comment was of one staff member, who probably needs a bit of retraining. However the staff were great considering the storm that had ensued not long after our arrival. Staff could have been concerned about personal property and they still kept a smile and courteous attitude during their task at hand. I have great admiration in how they coped. I attended the 1 RAR reunion dinner. Thank You for a great and memorable weekend. I am still buzzing from the.
all reviews » I partciularly was extremely imporessed by the night receptionist Nathan. I also stayed there Christmas eve and the day after and he was on duty on both occasions. So helpful was he that I intended to write a letter to the managemant extolling our praise.You are fortunate to have him and youir other staff members were helpful as well. Please pass on my thanks to Nathan. Also has good facilities, including the pool and closness to the beach if required. I got the $130 special. Love the pool and spa. The deck area was quite dirty with rubbish on the Sunday that I arrived however and there weren't any staff around down near the pool. It wasn't enough to taint my experience but it was certainly enough to take note of. I do still highly recommended opal cove and can assume based on precious experience that this was a once off. We loved the hole thing,we carnt fault anything.We are planning go back in March 2014.But this time book a sea view room with a extra bed for our teenager.We loved the entrance when u arrive and when u enter the motel it's self.We didn't want to leave.xo. Booking was easily achieved. Pricewise it was fine. Rooms relatively spaceous and clean facilities. Pleasant entry and front desk. Did not take a meal there but facilities and bar area good. Hope to run a workshop there later in the year?!. We have businesses in Coffs and South West Rocks. Have frequently stayed with you. Have always looked forward to these breaks.We do not spend a lot of time at the hotel during the day but always look forward to a relaxing night. Looked nice. Rooms kept cleaned and fully stocked daily. Lovely pool. Games room is fun and addictive. On site bar and restaurant. Room service. I think U need to have screen doors that lock so we don't need to use aircon. Al staff need to obey law and not serve intoxicated people at bar. The friedly service.......e.g. the kitchen stayed open past closing time so that I could get a meal, when I arrived at 9.00pm. Off the Highway, off the grid and the service and food in the restaurant was off this planet. We have never enjoyed better. Well designed rooms and close proximity of parking for luggage transfers. The location was easy to find and quick to get to off the Pacific Highway. The hotel was very attractive from the outside and with excellent surrounding gardens, pool etc. Location, Kiah, a staff member helped with a cup of milk at 6am for morning coffee, this was only because the complimentry milk tasted strange. Good service and facilities especially for families. My rating on staff was reduced because of the abruptness of one staff member in the serving area. she was almost dictatorial. However there was a storm happening, there was an influx of people and the cooking staff appeared to be disagreeable with the orders taken at that point in time. Its more because of that one member she appeared to have a countryfied attitude. Not have even a limited 24 hour room service which I think is amazing. Also I couldn't find any Austar/Foxtel channels which, if true, is a negative. Additionally I don't even recall any any pay movie channels on offer. Were there any?. As mentioned over⬅️ just the pool area had quite a lot of rubbish on the Sunday that I arrived and there was no staff around that I could see. Although I wouldn't want staff there all the time while trying to relax a little presence could be nice. Car park was jammed when one returned in the evening and the lighting from the far side was perhaps not adequate. Not a great selection on the menu. Dvd player and/or austar would be a bonus. That they kept serving intoxicated person when that person had no idea what was going on. Room seemed hot in spite of air conditioning; breakfast coffee awful - unless buying from bar. Being asked to fill in registration form but not being given a pen. After a pause (waiting to be given a pen), I asked for one, but was told 'to wait a minute'. Other receptionist saw what was going on and gave me a pen!!. Nothing. Big stripy legged Mosquitos on the beach. They were wearing football socks !. Wheelchair access for disabled persons to beach not possible as no sealed pathway. I have stayed here a number of times & enjoy it but its now starting to get a bit worn out. Splash of paint etc to brighten it up again. The tiles in bathroom VERY slippery!. View if the vacate block next door, pool not heated. Outdoor furniture - cheap plastic chairs that just folded up under weight - could have been quite dangerous. The food. Very overcooked. Oily. Even the canapaiays were hard. Waiting a long time for service. N/a. Minor maintenance issues eg mesh on screen doors, sticking sliding doors, shower tap adjustments. The decking around pool had several nails sticking up causing my baby to cut her foot. Needs to be fixed asap. Found a sock under the bed; suggesting staff did not clean very thoroughly. The hotel is several kilometers from the town center, via a busy highway. They were doing some renovating in our hallway and the walls were half painted. They should put signs up to apologise. Didn't mind otherwise. the evening meals were not good basically you had to go into coffs to get a real meal the snacks from 2 to 5..30 were ok their was work being done on pool which could of been done before school holidays as their was many children their .the other problem I had was I was charged extra money then what you told me and they told me it was bank fees I was not impressed .was not also told if I booked breakfast online it would only cost $17 compared to $23 .it was cheaper to go out and get a feed. Liked it all. Fridge was a bit too small to be practical. Villa was a long way away from facilities. Resort is in need of an update. Price of in room food. Nothing. Senior staff denied late checkout additional to one night stay. Senior staff disallowed us to buy a bottle of desertwine. I was put in a rear facing room as far from the front door as you could get (#333). I'd like to have had some "real" milk. Not having free wi fi (as advertised) in the room. nothing. The shower flooded the bathroom:-). apartments where a little dated, but clean and comfortable. The room was located at the end of a very long corridor circuiting the building and offered no option for a shorter route. The room itself was comfortable but the bathroom was very poor with a mat stained bath, there was a hole in the wall where a fitting was missing, it was very tired looking and outdated very much in need of renovation. The bathroom was the only dissapointment. Pool area was under construction. Complimentry milk for tea & coffee was strange tasting, after applyed to morning coffee. Towels were stained or dirty. No kids playground Cold pool No fans in townhouse. The resort is advertised with wi-fi "throughout all areas", yet is only available right near reception where the communal computers are located. No wi-fi reception in rooms or downstairs in bar/restaurant/games areas, let alone the pool area. The main reason we chose this resort was so that we had wi-fi access in the privacy of our own room, so very very disappointed with being misled when booking. Staff at reception when booking in unhelpful. Rooms too-far from lift, Bathrooms need upgrading.
