We were pleasantly surprised about how nice it was. We arrived late and were upgraded to a one bedroom suite. It was new and there was plenty of room. The bed was big and comfortable and there was a large shower. Noise from Northborne Ave was minimal ( and this is a huge factor- which anyone who has stayed on Northborne will attest). It was very easy to have the breakfast we wanted from the cafe, rather than feeling 'obliged' to fill up at a paid buffet. Having said that, we could have gone acr.
all reviews » I hAve booked and paid for approximately 15 + rooms at ArIa over the last 4 months and still Aria's software on which bookings are made doesn't appear to recognise me as regular. I find this puzzling and can only assume my business is not valuable to Aria. Also Aria's 2 % fee for MasterCard payments is unfair, how else to pay? staff's issuance of a merchant copy for signature prior to providing a tax invoice for checking is very poor. My next booking of 5 rooms in 4 weeks will be elsewhere. Tha. The staff were very friendly in a genuine manner which is a nice change from the often plastic feigned friendliness. Room was beautifully designed, clean and tidy and very comfortable. All the attention to providing facilities was appreciated, especially the fine detail items such as air tight containers and great appliances. Overall our experience was a delight and we only wish we had a chance to stay longer. The Aria Hotel was fantastic, from check-in to check-out. The room was spotless, and they provided a free upgrade to a suite (which is great, as many hotels would prefer to leave these rooms empty even on slow nights). All staff were fantastic, parking was free and easy, and the restaurant at the sister hotel, The Pavillion, next door was great. We "liked" everything about our Aria stay! This was our second stay in the last few weeks, & we're looking forward to our next. Free secured parking was a real bonus. Sound proof walls were a god send due to my 5 year old being himself. Our second stay at the Aria Hotel Canberra. Facilities great. Our apartment on both occasions had everything that we needed - well maintained, attractively furnished, very clean, well resourced kitchen. The Hotel is very conveniently located and we would most certainly recommend it. Easy drive to Canberra via Hume Hwy, location of the hotel, its modern style of accommodation, clean, comfortable, professional staff, good chef, food and the waiter. One very small criticism in design only...the room to apartment bedroom interfered with the room to bathroom, in as much that the bedroom door had to be closed to allow access to bathroom. The only minor complaint I had was I found the bed too soft and squishy - but that's just personal preference!. It is a fair walk into the city but there are buses and they do offer a shuttle service if you book it. The whole city seems to shut down at 6pm. Except for the Dickson area. All well, no complains !. Wi-fi costs extra if you need the internet, and this is 2013!. The bed had a doona cover which is, in my opinion; totally unnecessary outside of Siberia in winter. The pillows were too firm and bulky, consequently sleep was difficult. none, don't have any to report. No complaints what-so-ever. No breakfast included and no buffet breakfast at Aria. Next door only. Pool was next door. No bath :(. I did not like that you could only get food from small cafe sometimes and had to walk across path to get to sister motel to get breakfast or dinner. Shower head size was good but not enough pressure. Took abit for hot water to come through and when it did it wasn't very hot. Spa suite needs more then two towels???. Nothing at all. No free wi-fi. Breakfast at Pavilion very average. Interesting and normally priced room service type menu but wine prices were exceptionally high. First wine that appealed was $51. Snack cafe but no full service dine in restaurant. Nearest liquor outlet is a 20 minute walk. If you want a proper meal with normally priced wine you have to dine out. Nothing wrong. Only had one meal but our room service was a bit hit and miss, ie not as described (tomato sauce not aioli). Also I asked that (if possible) I would like avocado instead of egg in caesar salad. Told that was fine when I ordered but dish arrived without either. No TV guide. a little more attention to traces of mould on tile grout in the shower. TV screen gave distorted images. No bar of soap nor toiletries. Daytime noise from air con. in office complex next door prevented enjoyment of balcony (was however turned off at night - thank goodness!). Small bedroom with no room to place suitcase. No breakfast was available at all in the building, contrary to what was explained, and we were directed to the hotel next door. View from very small balcony. Our room had an awful smell and management were slow to act, two nights of a gassy smell was too much. Inconvenient walking to next door Hotel for breakfast and dining. Bed was a little bit soft. Paid extra to have buffet breakfast in another hotel nearby but it was average - nothing spectacular. And didn't like having to pay extra for a latte as opposed to having just perculated. Felt that it should have been included in the price. Boring coffees and teasin the room. No extra flavours of teas such as green, chamomile or peppermint. Nothing. None.
