  We were a couple with a infant. We were recommended to this hotel by a friend. It had cooking facilites we wanted for our baby. T also had Air conditioner, car parking and wi-fi which we look for where ever we go. The staff (receptionist- I assume she is the owner) was very friendly and helped us a lot to plan our sight seeing. Bed was very comfortable.Kitchen area very adequate. Good outdoor BBQ area. Location great - near the Esplanade, shops and airport. Good price for the facilities as a lot of budget accommodation have shared bathrooms.

  Fantastic value for money - I was a bit worried because it was at such a low rate...but the rooms are big! It is very comfortable. Staff are helpful and 24 hrs. There are two pools, which was great for the kids. Restaurant, room service at night, and $8 cooked eggs for breakfast. We stayed in the most basic of rooms. However the "kitchenette" had... what people say » everything, including an electric cooker, so really the only thing you are missing out on is an oven. It is certainly not brand new, but it is clean - 1. and out of the CBD which enabled us to have a peace and quietness during the days and nights for rest and sleep. 2. Fast & efficient check in and check out. 3. linkage and calls for taxi service. 4. Easy access to Esplanade walkway for walks, exercise and relaxation. 5. Swimming pool for apartments easily accessible and free for my children, and not crowded. 6 Very convenient apartments for family my size.

  Close to everything. The best pool ever with sandy lagoon and sitting tables around. Very refreshing after the long hot day... Breakfast was good, in addition to traditional choices (cold and hot) included some unconventional dishes tailored to Asian tourists. Staff was helpful and efficient.   The full kitchen and laundry facilities, close to everything. Modern facilities, nice pool (a lot of hotels in Cairns are very dated from the 1980s tourist boom I think). There was a mix-up when we were checking in and we were quoted a much higher price than we booked, but for a Harbourview room. We ended up getting a Harbour view room anyway but ... what people say » paying a really great price! Loved the view and the location. Also, they provide all eco-products for laundry, dish-washing etc., not just the standar - Great location. Right beside the marina and very close to the city. Lots of choices of nice restaurants just downstairs. Staff are extremely helpful. Helped us with all the bookings of shuttle bus and site visits. The studio hotel apartment was great value of money. The ocean view from the balcony was fantastic. Can't wait to come back to Harbour Lights for our next Cairns holiday!

  It was our 2nd staying at the property and we enjoyed pretty much for twice accommodation there. It is a little bit different service style comparing with the big deluxe hotels, all the staffs here were all looking after us like family member, which made us feeling “ home away from home”. Especially we would like to mention one of excellent recept... what people say » ionist Eileen, she was always presenting you with so sweet smiling face all the time and arranged us the great local tours by our exact need ……! All - The location of the Bay Tree Hotel was perfect for our tansfer from the airport, the boat to Green Island for snorkelling and the Skytrain / Karunda rainforest expererience. The staff at the hotel desk were extremely helpful, polite and efficient. Breakfast by the pool on a nice sunny morning was perfect and added to our holiday. The room was perfect for the 3 nights we stayed, the confortable bed and the well equipped bathroom with walk in shower was very acceptable.

There was not a restaurant on premise but the nearby shopping center had a food court. If you cannot haul your own luggage up 2 flights of stairs, then you will need to request a ground floor room.   We were originally meant to only stayed 4 nights but we stayed the entire 8 of our holidays! It is definitely worth the price you pay. Our room was serviced everyday by the friendly house keepers and were always greeted by the friendly, helpful service desk people. The people at the service desk will always help you book tours, taxi, shuttle bu... what people say » ses and all. Webber whom was a staff member was mainly a huge help to my partner and I!! The breakfast buffet is amazing. They offer a huge variety of - Absolutely loved our stay at the Rydges Esplanade Resort. The staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We checked in prior to 2pm due to a flight reschedule and even though the hotel was close to full the staff did everything they could to get us into our room as quickly as possible which was greatly appreciated. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We had a mountain view room which had stunning views of Cairns at night. If your out during the day, I'd recommend this
