Absolutely amazing place to stay, with great staff and superb accommodation. I arrived from my flight at about 5am, 9 hours before check in. This wasnt a problem, was shown straight to the guest lounge and was able to get some sleep and a shower and wait in comfort. My room was on the ground floor overlooking one of the swimming pools - it was large, clean and well decorated. The bed was huge and comfy and couldn't have wanted more. The pool was gorgeous, the breakfast was superb, and the ho.
all reviews » We really liked the layout of Palm Royale and so many swimming pools from which to choose.There are plenty of options for ordering meals but they are brought in as I dont think there was a restaurant available to guests. Buffet breakfast is available on site. Red rooster is nearby and a shopping centre within close walking distance.Security staff constantly patrol the site. The room was very good value for money and we would stay again. Kylie at reception was wonderful. When their was delays with flights & hassles she tried to help in trying circumstances. She put me in contact with another patron so I could help her out and she returned the favour. Have gained a fabulous friend. Thanks Kylie - you were great. The cleaner also was excellent helping me to regain entry after being accidentally locked out. I loved the cleanliness of our room and all the room features. The view of the pool was awesome from our Family Room with Pool View. Rooms were maintained daily. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and spa setting was awesome! As a family of 2 adults and 1 child, it was economical and close to a major shopping centre, pub and medical centre. The staff is excellent, warm, friendly, and cooperative. They have the right information about tourist attractions. The room was nice and has a nice ambience. Parking is free. The place is right next to a nice mall and one can find a number of lunch and dinner options + groceries, etc. Very warma nd friendly welcome. The hotel shared a restaurant (which was excellent) with another hotle but a free shuttle bus was always available to get there. Shuttle bus would also go to town or airport for a small fee. Very nice pool, parking available. Highly recommended. The staff were absolutely fantastic, couldn't be more accommodating...we had a toddler & New baby & they were great with us...I would certainly go back there again...we got 2 nights for $130 & that was for the long weekend so i give it 10 out of 10... I thought the staff member who checked me in was helpfful and friendly. The room was very clean and spacious and good value for money. The location was handy for me on this occasion. The room was very quite and secure. The pool area looked nice and maintained. We have always loved the aspect of the rooms overlooking the pools and gardens... Also love the restaurant above the pools for breakfast...fantastic verandah eating experience to start the day. The staff all deserve nothing but praise.... Super helpful. The Staff was great. They were very accommodating to any of my requests. The pool areas were great. If you're there to relax and soak up the sun this hotel is perfect for that. We did see some less than ideal people, however because of the strong presence of security staff felt very secure on the premises. Door locked behind me when I went to the loo in the early hours of the morning. Was advised by kitchen staff to ring the night person as it is his job. (I had been waiting since 5.30 for someone) rang him and he said wait till 7am as he wasn't on duty. So I was waiting until the cleaner helped me. The outdated television. No heating in the spa. The rundown facade. The hotel is located around 20 minutes from the downtown / airport / cairns port (the place from where great barrier reef cruises depart). All good. We found it a little noisey & our children didn't sleep well...but i expect that when we are in the city, coming from the country...it is a little outdated & a refurbished would do it justice...but it was very clean...also the t.v was abit poor quality... I think the tv should be replaced as it is old and the picture was green and pink. The breakfast area could be enlarged to cater for large groups trying to get served at the same time. The coffee pot was empty and the tables should be set for brekky (tablecloths). I was disappointed to see the buildings in disrepair and showing its age..... Needs some maintenance and refurbishment to polish it up again.... This includes the footpaths as they are now qiute uneven from tree roots and shifting. The location wasn't in the greatest of areas but the hotel did provide transportation to the city so it wasn't too bad. They didn't have a restaurant for evening meals as they only served breakfast. Only down side is the parking is mostly on the street but we were lucky enough to get parking on site. I didn't like that there is no resturant or even no microwave ovens in the rooms .. I parked in the second car park, it would have been nice to have gates that shut. hotel did not have on site restaurant, i was transported to sister hotel. The mattresses were shocking...even with the foam egg stuff under the sheets. Shame as if they up graded their mattresses we would stay here all the time! Sleeping on the floor....is an expensive alternative! Get new mattresses and I will recommend you to everyone!. The only thing I would have to say would be the elevator. Only because we had a pram. View was of reasonably busy road. Not able to receive internet or good mobile phone signal in room. No free wifi or cable tv. Wall around front door was rotting, as was the cupboard door in the bathroom. King bed was just two singles pushed together. Would have loved some Wi-Fi, otherwise cannot fault. Pillows were very high. Would suggest the spa to have warm water. Condition of the exterior of complex very poor Very old refrigerator Cups too small, need Coffee cups Electric Jug poor condition. Location is not very close to the main city but that is justified with the price and resort facilities/looks itself. the laundry was often wet (floors ) and a little unsafe. It was a bit far from the city, however if you have a car then not a problem!. The hotel is situated quite far out of the center. However this is partly compensated by a shuttle service which is priced decently. breakfast seemed a little shambolic as very busy at time and staff struggling to keep up supplies etc. traffic a bit noisy on street side. Hard to find the first time and not such a good suburb to be in but we had no problems & fortunate with our parking. Some of the staff at the reception could have been more helpful. Breakfast cooked option wasnt that great. Think a bar area open all day serving food/drinks where people could socialise would be a welcome addition. Dirty outside appearance of building. Carpets in room needs updating. The beds were too soft. If you have back problems, better to make up some sheets on the floor rather than risk waking up in pain. Hotel probably slightly tired but the hotel pricing is very fair. For the price paid all was more than reasonable. No wi fi. I suppose this time of the year even though you are in the tropics the water was a bit to cool. To a lot of people the lack of a bar area. The horrible aussie man belittling n yelling at the two Asian ladies at the check in desk while I was waiting to check into my room. He made me feel scared n worried for the ladies. Location - on the cnr of busy intersection so too noisy; place looks very tired & in need of a make-over; no wine glasses or cutlery in room; certainly not a four star as rated. Having to park on the road outside. Being a nurse dirty air conditioning vents concern me! Room and reception noted. The breakfast chef seemed to have an issue with people using different serving spoons. She commented that this was due to people being vegetarian. Maybe you should look at giving her another warmer to separate the two. She got a funny with some of the non Australian speaking customers. Booking on line. Did not show that there was a surcharge on Credit cards until after all details had been given and survey filled out. ( i.e. on the following page). I believe this is illegal in Australia.
