Mantra had entered the wrong dates into my booking. When I contacted them (after my stay) with the error, they immediately refunded the difference that I'd had to pay for the upgraded room. They were very friendly and helpful in correcting their error. it was convenient to the Convention center and I had a direct passage to the airport using the new go between bridge and the new airport tunnel I was there in 15 mins.

The bed - in a double room, two twin beds pushed together to make a double bed is not comfortable at all for a couple who sleep in the same bed. no conveniant parking. Twin beds in rooms a bit narrow. The equivalent in Sydney now provides two double beds in rooms. 1. window blinds are not blackout, bring eyemask if you dont want to be woken at 5am by sunrise as many of the rooms face east. 2. bring earplugs, hotel is above the restaurant strip which is noisy on Fri and Saturday nights. a trade off, as it is also convenient to be close to restaurants and cafes. Can't think of anything!. Bed was hard Added minibar to the bill when nothing was taken. Our car was damaged when valet parked and Mantra took no responsibility for it. Their response was blunt with an underlying accusation that we were lying. We will never stay at Mantra again. The staff seemed a bit confused as I had booked 3 rooms and they kept on asking the other occupants of the rooms details even though i had paid for everything on my corporate card, am not sure if there is a perhaps more communication needed between reservations and the front desk. Noisy due to closeness to trains. Nothing. The fry pan in the room could be better e.g. non sticj fry pan. Not much variety in buffet breakfast. the lack of easy access to wifi in the room. lighting in rooms was dismal.. especially for reading in bed. Didn't have a 2 beds for us as requested and no balconys. The room rate was very expensive and there was an extra $35 charge for parking. I had requested two separate beds. When we arrived, the bed was configured as a king-size. We had to wait while it was re-configured as two singles. Also, at the price I paid, breakfast inclusion would have been appropriate. Restaurant and bar not open, airconditioner made a rattle and was noisy. The doonas on the 2 single beds didn't have covers. Reception ladies were not friendly. Not a lot or variety of food for breakfast. We also had an evacuation of the hotel around midnight. And was out for about 40 minutes. Though besides the alarm warning, there was nothing else communicated. Except the police men saying they didn't know why it went off. Was very disappointed with my stay. And would not suggest it for any one else to stay. Tiny, noisy, overpriced and dated rooms adjacent and overlooking a railway track. Sound of trains hurtling past from late at night and early in the morning. Tiny towels, limited amenities. A deceptive hotel as lobby is large and appealing. Staff bored and disinterested. Rooms cost almost Aus$400 per night without breakfast.
