Firstly as I was travelling with a friend - it was far more comfortable for us to have an apartment with a bedroom/bathroom each and enjoy the larger lounge area together and cook if we wanted to in our kitchen. Far more cost effective than 2 small rooms in a big Hotel! I had never been to Brisbane before so wanted to be central to city and enjoy the view of the river particularly at night - we were not disappointed as had a exceptional view from our apartment on level 7. We walked with ease.
all reviews » Deceiving at first as the door to my room was off one of the carpark levels (I was only on level 2). But open the door to a wonderful surprise - a huge long apartment with good bed, full size dining table, full size fridge, oven, cooktop, smallish lounge area with decent size tv and a large outdoor patio area with dining set and sliding doors to block out the nearby traffic. I really liked the location and the ease in which you could get around the city. It was easy for family living in Brisbane to visit due to it's central location. I would definitely stay again and would not hesitate to recommend Evolution Apartments to friends & family. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our apartment was too small for our group and they moved us to another apartment quickly at no extra charge. The view was amazing and the location was perfect placing us within walking distance to shopping and entertainment. Free WiFi. Perfect location for getting to Galleries and CBD activities. Good rooms, good kitchen, good sky lounge and pool and gym. Good reception and staff. We are likely to stay again as we were well looked after and felt rested when we left. Thanks David Jardine . Rm 62. Great location, close to the train station and center of the city. Staff were very friendly, our apartment was large with all the amenities you would expect in a serviced apartment. Awesome pool facilities. Being able to cater for ourselves. The friendliness and efficiency of the reception staff (Amy and Paul). Nothing was any trouble to them. Also the views from the apartment were stunning. The young man at reception could not have been more helpful. The view of the river was lovely day and night. Convenient to walk from Roma St , Southbank and the city. The view of the river was spectacular and the place a great starting point for all areas of Brisbane. Had to get used to the noise from never ending traffic below hotel - major freeway runs along the river front - don't know there is much you could do about this but ? provide ear plugs! Old Slat bed in both bedrooms - fairly uncomfortable with poor pillows! Needs a bit of money spent on it to make this a great place to stay. Its an exec apartment style so don't expect gourmet breakfast, only those $10 breakfast packs with cereal and pastry. However Queen St Mall (a full length pedestrian street) was 5 mins walk with plenty of breakfast options along there. Nothing. Very little problems. We had to pay $200 bond for room damage. We kept room very tidy. Bond is due to be paid back in 5 working days. May be better to complete a room inspection before peaple check out as I dont know how you control checking room after weve left and we dont get to be there to see problem?. Our apartment (no. 22) was directly facing a pedestrian foot bridge, there was little to no privacy unless the curtains were closed, and some of the windows had no curtains. This made the unit dark and and not very fresh! The balcony faced the river(which was nice) but again, it was too close to the road to enjoy sitting out there. It would have been good if the staff could have made up/stashed the sofa bed each day instead of leaving out and/or making/not making it up each day. The noise from the freeway below was a bit much at times. The kitchen could be better stocked eg sharp knives/ cheese grater and it was a mission to reach the glasses on the top shelf in the kitchen. Had to get a chair to reach!. Can't say we did not like anything even if it was an overnight stay. Everything was great!!. The staff were helpful over the phone but unenthusiastic in person. instructions for parking were difficult to follow. I would have appreciated more information/guidance on getting basic supplies in the city. I was busy at a convention and lacked the time to find grocery outlets/read lots of material about what was available. No sure what happened to house keeping on the second day? A bit expensive per night for a porta cot. A silly economy on the provision of a proper ironing board. The sleeve board has to be put on the dining table with no safe stand for the iron. With only 2 lifts available for the whole building (cleaners included) there was considerable waits. should be able to use sky lounge & the pool & spa 24/7 as long as rules are respected..very hard to go on a romantic night out & come back to not been able to use sky lounge. No mini bar. Didn't like the fact that we had a 2 bedroom apartment that didn't have an ensuite. The lack of parking for check in when you arrive. The only other thing was I was paying cash but I needed to have a card so they could process and hold $200.00 but we got it sorted just took a bit more time than it should have. n/a. The road noise as it is located above a busy motorway. The bed settee was a little hard for our mother. Nothing. Dark corridors in lobby... The lifts are very slow and one was faulty. lift positioning and that lights go off and on- did not feel so safe that was around the corner; found air conditioning noisy. Our room was located on the 7th floor just over the BBQ/pool area so it did get very noisy and we had to pull all the blinds down for privacy which was a shame as it was a special weekend for us as we'd just got married the week before but would stay again. Walking through a carpark to get to the room. Wifi was not available for my room even though Wifi was noted as a feature and Wifi was available for other rooms. Carparking - not enough spaces. Nic the male front counter. Has no idea of customer service. A smile from the beginning would have been nice instead of a :yes: Lisa was fantastic they need to take him off the counter. Very upset about he total attitude. Small room in appartments with 2 bedrooms. the carpet tends to be difficult to maintain...especially near wet areas... Price for parking a bit hexy. the bathroom, not properly cleaned or maintained... stuffy smell movies on demand would be nice. we did complain about air con in our room on the first night and on our return a few days later air con still could not be adjusted. we stayed in the same room both times. the clothes dryer put yellow marks on our clothes. trying to get in and out of shower, over bath, glass screen makes it very hard. didnt no about paying parking before me going there and they took out 200 bond out right away and didn't tell me i found out on statement i rang up and he said it takes up to 5 working days i went there on the 2nd of nov and its not in my account yet whats that. Lack of Microwave Dishes.
