all reviews » Overall an excellent place to stay with very friendly helpful staff. The apartment had great facilities for a medium term stay - good kitchen, excellent washing machine and drier. Free wi-fi internet and very cheap printing was a real bonus. Plus, lovely comfortable grounds and a great location for cafes and restaurants. Also, convenient for the CBD. Amazing location, in front of Adelaide free connector bus stop, shops everywhere, quiet and nice garden. Rooms are clean with kitchen. Nicely design and love the furnitures. We stayed at MANN building(Three bedroom apartment, room 27) And of course, staff are very helpful. :). The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The apartment was very clean, roomy and comfortable. Within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and cafes, as well as the CBD. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to other travellers to Adelaide. We stayed for 4 nights & on the first two days we had a problem with power point in kitchen. Staff had to keep coming to sort circuit breaker. When a 2 bed apartment became available, we were upgraded & were very happy about that. Enjoyed our stay very much. Secure parking, plenty available. Good location, good value for money, lovely location, enjoyed eating breakfast at the Store coffee shop over the road, and a large playground at the end of the road for children (not belonging to the hotel). I loved everything about the the Old lion Apartments. The gardens were beautifully maniqured you would ot think you were in the city at all. the staff were all so friendly and all need a pat on the back from front of house to cleaners. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely bonus with the provision of baby toiletries. We ave stayed here numerous times, in different rooms and suits and are always apply with our stay. Plus, parking us included!. Location. Close to many restaurants and Old Lion Pub which served great meals from 8am. Free bus to the city at the door. Within walking distance for the reasonably fit of the city. Room was a good size. Ample seating. The apartments are well located in leafy North Adelaide close to shopping and dining options and only a short walk from central Adelaide or the Adelaide Oval. They are spacious and well equipped. The location was great, being just minutes away from CBD and Melbourne street nearby has a collection of good restaurants. Secured parking makes you feel safe overnight. Bed was comfortable too. Lovely staff, ideal location for our purposes, Melbourne Street is terrific - fun places and great food. Great location for walks through the parks, not far to the gorgeous botanic gardens. Stayed here previously and again was not disappointed with anything. Car parking included. Plenty of choice for meals within walking distance, able to walk into city centre (15-20mins). The staff were more than helpful absoluly no complaints at all .this is my second time in the apartments will stay again if ever back in Adelaide Thank you so much Edith Nutter. Loved the easy access to the car park and unit. The site being an old brewery had an appeal. The Old Lion is surrounded by great restaurants within easy walking distance. This hotel is gorgeous and I highly recommend it. It was very luxurious and in a lovely location. Not too close and not too far from where we intended to go. I liked the location which was great. Also the appartments were very nice and were spotless. .would highly recommend staying here and would stay here again. The seperate bedroom. Comfortable size not cramped. Bathroom was a good size and shower was also a good size and not in a bath. The tv as the footy was on. An extra saucepan and heavier frying pan in the kitchen would have been useful. A minor irritant. As a short person, the base of the couch was far too wide and the cushion seat slid out. nothing. We had a late check-in, and unfortunately the baby cot wasn't set up. Stairs may be a problem for some. No lifts. Bed was average. Nothing not to like. They did the job. Our unit is next to the Lion Hotel (a pub), and is too noisy in the weekends. Our windows have to be shut throughout the night, and there are no a/c inside the room, making the sleep on warm nights very uncomfortable. Floor in the kitchen is very sticky, doesn't feel like it's been mopped before we occupy. The bathroom was weird. I'd recommend enclosing the laundry facilities behind louvre doors. Having supplies sitting in the laundry sink was very odd. The shower with only a cloth curtain in a corner and most of the space taken up by a shower chair didn't seem up to standard with the rest of the place. Great that you do cater for people with mobility issues though. Nothing comes to mind. Nothing what so ever . Small toilet awkwardly positioned in bathroom and already not looking as fresh as rest of facilities Very small and not current release dvd collection available was disappointing. Room was a little warm, aircon didn't make it In to 2nd bedroom. Probably would have liked an apartment with a balcony. There was nothing I didn't like. no elevator, not good for prams had to carry everything to rooms, not totally child proof, glass top tables ontop of wood not secured properly, and standing lamps not in corners. Wi-fi did not worked well. I was in apartment 19 on the second floor and wi-fi never worked. I had to go downstairs to have access to the Internet. I hadn't noticed that the booking was in the name of my friend, Kath Betts, so we were told there was no booking in my name. Disconcerting but sorted out once I retrieved my booking printout. Stairs. Would have liked a lift (as in elevator!). There was a fair bit of noise, but expected with older buildings. Pillows were far too soft and almost non existent. Kitchen facilties a little outdated but very functional Car parking spaces limited size for bigger cars and once there were no parks available. The room we were in tended to be a bit noisy especially at night. More sound proofing is needed for the windows onto the street. the small parking spots!. washer/dryer was a combo machine - difficult to use and took very long to dry clothes. The reception staff was not familiar with the operation and could not answer questions. An detailed instruction sheet should be provided. No Lifts for mature people the only negative point. Nothing. Bed far too big for size of room, lack of power points, located behind beds instead of propriate place, could do with mirror in second room, also bad lighting over vanity in bathroom. A little noisy (especially at night), could hear a baby crying above us frequently. Not sure if it is our age but we got sore backs after sleeping in the beds (beds could be a little softer). Another trivial thing to suggest altering is the location of the toilet roll holder as one day a near full toilet roll rolled into the bath which was wet due to someone having a shower in it! Best to re-fit on the other side of the wall, especially for ease of access. Curtains in living room had stains. Cistern/toilet was old and buttons kept getting stuck. Not enough bench space around basin in bathroom. No dishwasher. No cereal bowls. Only 4 mugs, 5 plates, no salad bowl. Bedroom curtain had partially come off the track. Kitchen benchtops should have been updated in recent refurbishment to complete the modern look. A bit of late night noise on Friday night, patrons leaving hotel. Not a lot of good restaurants around and a bit far from the city, but very quit and comfortable. Can't think of any. Dining table, Coffee table and bedside tables not wiped clean. Nothing. Unfortunately, had possums in the roof cavity which was not the best wake up call. Otherwise, a pleasure to stay at.
