The hotel is lovely, nice rooms, comfy bed. They gave us a complimentary room upgrade for our honeymoon. They are renovating at the moment so I imagine it will be more modern look in the future. The pool and beach are fantastic and loved the pool bar. Cocktails delicious! -

Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Staff were helpful. Lovely outlook over banyan trees and sweet night twitterings emanated from the birds nesting in the banyans as we slept. Great location for Volcanoes National Park and Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls. We did all 3 in one day. Beautiful walk in the gardens opposite the hotel.

The hotel doesn't get very good reviews so we were a little
skeptical about staying here. We were surprised to find the hotel
clean, comfortable, in a great location (wished we had booked for
2 days instead of 1),staff was very friendly and the renovations
were beautiful. Breakfast buffet was very well done. Free parking
was a bonus!

I loved the history of the hotel. It's not like the huge hotels on the island, but it is romantic in that it kind of takes you back in time. Don't look at it as what it could be, but for what it once was and still is, and you will fall in love with it. Arrived at night, so didn't see that they have this beautiful view of the ocean. Very friendly at reception. Parking was good even though others took advantage of parking along the perimeters of the lot. That is, we wanted to be sure that we could get out of the parking lot in the very early hours of the morning so that we we could get ur early inter-island flight. Hotel staff curule ensure tat people did not park in the thoroughfare of the exit of the parking lot.

First, the value. It was nicer than most upscale hotels we've
stayed at, and at half the price. All amenities were for comfort and

The view from the ocean side rooms was spectacular. The check in staff (Wendy) did a great job checking us in with a long line, she was very friendly and helpful. This is a great resort! The units are spacious and well equipped. They even have electric blenders,beaters and an ice bucket and numerous bbqs. Lots of colourful birds flit around in the trees and there's lots of other cute wildlife. Its only a short drive to the best supermarket we found in Hawaii. This is a condo not a hotel although the services match a good hotel.
Luxuriously appointed apartment on first floor (not ground). Large sitting room and balcony. Beautiful tropical garden setting. Free garage parking. Immaculate swimming pools nearby and hot tubs. A short drive from restaurants and supermarkets.

Everything! Place was immaculate, big, in fact it was so spacious that the tv in the living/dining room appeared small. 30' away. We will be going back again today. Staff was accomodating and friendly. Met all expectations. Balcony was nice for morning and evening meals. -

I upgraded online from a studio to 1 bedroom, then asked for another upgrade to an oceanview when we checked in. She found one available, offered it for $40 more, and we spent an amazing night in a gorgeous suite, 20 feet from the crashing waves! It was the highlight of our time in Hawaii. Yes, the place is old and run down, but if you're looking for a clean, budget-friendly place, it's fine. Great shower. We got a free upgrade to a room with a king-size bed, so that was very nice.

The location is very good and on the beach which could be dangerous due to high currents but is very nice when the water is calm. The rooms are huge and kept clean. They offer free breakfast (some pastries, bananas, juice, coffee, and tea) which is very convenient to start a busy day on Kauai. We liked our stay in Sands hotel and will definitely go there again.

The location was great for access to Volcano National Park. The tour of the on-site lava tube was great. The setting was beautiful. Breakfast first day seemed kind of limited for kids but realized Shannon thought is was for two adults. Once she found out I was traveling with my daughter she put out "kid-friendly" options. Very, very responsive. -

location was excellent, lava tour on their property was fascinating, and family room #5 accommodation was spacious and well equipped with everything you could need - owners have excellent Aloha spirit and are accessible on property. Beautiful surroundings and proximately to National Volcano Park

I appreciate the hard work each staff member put into making the facilities clean and beautiful, with a friendly atmosphere. And, it's close to a great smoothie shop!! Parking was affordable and beaches accessible with an enjoyable walk. -

EVERYTHING!! the cottage was extremely quaint, peaceful and private. it felt very homey and comfortable. landscape surrounding the cottages was quite magical. though it's near the main road, it wasn't noisy. the gardens were lush and green. Dixon the cat has his own beautiful resting place and Mr Webber, duck is his refreshing replacement : )

We loved the quaint cottage experience. Its design fit perfectly into
its location among the rainforest. The staff delivered breakfast the day
before...fresh bread, fruit, and juice. Perfect start to the day! Its a

We stayed in D35 and we loved it! It was clean, Internet was fast and stable and we used the BBQ every night and had dinner at our balcony with stunning views. Shops and restaurants are nearby. Great full condos with washer/dryer, full sized fridge, stove, microwave. Great if you want to shop for groceries and save some cash on small meals. Apartment was large, nicely decorated and clean. Nice Pool and hot tub.
