Enormous room - clean. Room service was excellent and surprisingly
affordable/reasonable. Huge choices for dining within the hotel.
Staff was excellent, professional, conscientious, expedient and

We stayed at the MGM Grand because of the PAC 12 Basketball tournament.
Everything was convenient to the Garden Arena.
We liked the buffet, the restaurants & the food court near the Arena.

It is a small casino/hotel but had everything we needed. It was a 3 minute walk to The Strip and right across the road from MGM Grand and Tropicana. The non-smoking room was definitely non-smoking, the bed was comfortable, we couldn't hear casino noise at all and when I notified housekeeping there wasn't a plug for the bath, one was delivered and

Room with enough space for baggage and other personal belongings. Shower and towels were good and clean. Parking near the facility easy to find and always enough places available, even in the weekend.

Very kind and careful service people, Wonderful view through the window (even though it was not a direct view to the Strip).
If you need a dental kit, or a shaving kit, you can get plenty of them. (no extra charge!) Hard line internet is free, and it's fast enough. Yes, wifi is not free but hard line was enough for me.

The hotel is probably one of the few that is just that. Most other venues are a combination of hotel, casinos, shops and more. Really the only place to stay in vegas if you want a chilled atmosphere.It is relaxing and well positioned near the middle of the strip. attractions, and quite close to the Bellagio fountain in particular. The

We were able to drop our bags off before checking in, the pool(s) and hot tub(s) were great and open 24/7 (except for during a rain storm of course) . Not sure if this is a plus or a minus but this hotel is extremely family friendly which was not what we expected. It's also around the corner from the start of the strip (luxor/mgm grand area) and while "around the corner" in Vegas is still pretty far, the location was great for the price. Also room service was always super quick and friendly.

I liked the fact that everyone did there own thing. No one checking up on what you doing! And when told the house keeper we were in there she left away! Also we left for a whole day came back at night and found our room to be super spotless! Her name was Silvia! Great job! :) the people at the casino very friendly and told us about LAX! The price was excellent for two adults staying two nights in Las Vegas!! We spent most of our time at the Mandalay Bay Resort where most of my family was gathered for my neice's wedding. Staying at Howard Johnson's allowed us to stay within our budget, and to be a 5 minute drive from the hotel where all of our events were. Very convenient. -
