Great location within walking distance of both Windemere and Bowness.
Helen, Phillippa and Trevor all pleasant and helpful. They even took us
through the kitchen at breakfast time to see the Deer in the woods at
the rear of the property. Our room was beautiful and peaceful and looked

nearby hotel. All in all excellent place to stay. -
the hostress, Phillipa (hope I didn't wrongly spell her name) was very kind. She welcomed us with delicious tea and cookies, and provided us some milk and cereal when she heard we had to catch up an early train and would miss the breakfast - hmm, the breakfast was quite good here. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating.

fantastic place to stay,ran by lovely couple Steve & Gail.
after a long journey our exhaust bracket on car had snapped,while Gail showed us to our room Steve strapped exhaust up to get us home after our stay.
the room was clean & nicely decorated with everything we mite need,bathroom was clean & a good size.

- Windemere town is a few minutes walk and the lake approx 15mins walk (or £3.50 taxi)
- Clean comfortable room
- Direct access to room from garden by the car park making it easy to bring in bags and not disturd anyone if getting in late
- Free WiFi
- Good breakfast
- Excellent value for money given the cost of hotels in the area. Wouldn't stay anywhere else when

the friendly nature of the hosts, the wonderful information they provided both in a written and verbal manner about the area and the breakfast - wonderful - The guest house was central to where we wanted to be. The friendliness of the owners. First impressions and facilities were excellent.

The hotel communal areas and our room were spotlessly clean and well decorated. Lovely room overlooking the rear gardens. Breakfast was exceptional due to the choice and flexibility of options available. Owners and staff were friendly, but left you to your own devices, which was good. Option to order champagne for the room on arrival, which we did!

Our rooms were charming and comfortable. Martin gave us great recommendations for eating in town, and for taking drives around the area. It was the perfect Lake District guest house experience!

Everything was exceptional. The place is a typical country house with very clean rooms with white crisp towels and bed linen. Breakfast was something I used to look forward to every morning which was really good. Location was just right as we were travelling by car and few mins from windermere centre. I am a wheelchair user (complete paraplegic) and found the access to be excellent. I would go as far to say that Meadowcroft is probably one of the best places I've stayed for disabled room facilities. The option to book a disabled room from the website is a very good touch, I usually have to phone ahead to confirm that the room is appropriate for my needs and available, which this function eleviated, if only other sites/hotels did this.
The room was spacious, comfortable and extremely clean.

Worth every penny - a fantastic small hotel
It snowed heavily during our stay and the staff even cleared the snow from our car - We stayed in the Bowness suite and it was beautiful, we could not fault a thing at this place, will return soon

Great value B&B for myself and my baby. Our single room was upgraded
to a tripple, cot and high chair were provided at no extra cost. Tv in
lounge which we were able to use (but didn't). Clean and
comfortable, close to Windermere, 20 mins walk to Bowness, free parking.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the hotel was in the
most amazing location with lake views that were absolutely beautiful.
The hotel itself was fabulous from the decor to the food. Our room had
the most perfect view of the lakes. Will most definitely be returning.
Can't wait... Have already recommended it to friends. -
