Steve and Vicky are very hospitable owners and personaly very nice people. One can feel they put their hert into this their work. They helped us a lot long before our travel by answering our questions (best choice of the Lakes tour, walking paths, arrival to WIndermere etc.)

Ideally located between Bowness and Windermere. 10-15 minutes stroll either way. Steve and Vicky are the friendliest B n B people that we have met (stayed in over 12 other B n Bs). Invergarry is such a welcoming place. The bed was really comfortable. We stayed in a small double but this was a reasonable size for a couple of nights and didn't feel small. Breakfast was delicious - homemade muesli, jam and marmalade. Best breakfast that we have had in a B N B. Really lovely touches in the rooms -

The hotel was so clean throughout, you could eat your meal off the floor! Breakfast was great. Our bedroom was beautifully and tastefully decorated. My boyfriend and I went for a romantic, restful weekend and that is what we got. We will definitely go again!

We stayed in room 8 and it was just as amazing as the pictures we saw on here. Huge walk in shower and free standing bath tub. Very comfortable bed and astonishing view from the private balcony. A return visit for 3 nights, after a 16 year gap! The hotel has changed hands since then and is almost unrecognisable from the previous visit. I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. Warm and comfortable with everything we could want. Stayed in Silverdale which was large with a gorgeous bathroom and comfortable bed. Great choice for breakfast. - Friendly atmosphere created by the staff and excellent servicethroughout. Rooms are very spacious and have recently been decorated toa high standard.

this was our first visit to the lamplighter we were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff we arrived with our 2 cavalier dogs who were made a big fuss of we also were asked if we wanted to eat in a separate room so the dogs could be with us which we declined as they are more than happy to stay in their sleeping crate .the breakfas

Very clean and recently refurbished. Staff veryt friendly and helpful. We stayed for 2 days and had our Dinner in the hotel on both days. (there is no where else to eat in the immdiate vicinity. Lovely country inn with a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The public areas have a local, historic feel e.g. the downstairs bar still has the old stalls from horse drawn days; charming. The staff are friendly and efficient, the bar has a great selection of local beers and ales and the food is superb. Our room, while small, was extremely well appointed and comfortable, excellent en suite facilities with a super powerful shower, bliss.

We stayed at the Bay House some 12 months ago and enjoyed the location and we they decided to back this week. The place is now under new management who have only been in for 2 months or so, but are making a very good go of the place. We enjoyed our weekend as the Bay House Lake View Guest House is central to everything, pubs, shops, lake and roads

Maxine & Graham the new owners are very welcoming and eager to please, nothing is too much trouble. Comfortable room, very good choice of breakfast and homemade cake in the room every day which was wonderful bonus! Issued with a car park pass so no worries about parking. Easy walking distance to the amenities of Bowness but quiet at night, the location is excellent.

the catering was great the staff were very approacable and friendly and the room was spotless warm and cosy and a great place all round for a young couple - with in easy reach of everything.
