  The Knoll was full of original, eccentric Victorian-style features and was a great place to stay. The room was small but comfortable, and the whole house was very warm and welcoming. Barry was a great host and left me to my own thing when needed, whilst also being available to help and advise when necessary. The proprietor could not have been more friendly, courteous and helpful he was a lovely man. The rooms were clean and all you needed for your stay. The breakfast perfect again excellent value and you couldnt have got better in a first class hotel. Will stay there again should I have to stay in Newport.

  The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly. The room was newly decorated and extremely comfortable - so much so I purchased two duvets from the Head Housekeeper who could not have been more obliging. The pool area was attractive and had all the facilities you could want except something to wring your wet swimming costume out. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to any - The first sight of the hotel was delightful with a vast array of pretty flowers and lavender everywhere . Wonderful pillows comfy bed with quilt , excellent tea/coffee facilities, bathroom lovely with all necessary toiletries provided. The choice of breakfast was excellent. We used the pool and surrounding patio area and found the whole experience very relaxing after a days shopping in Cardiff.

  Pretty much everything! The people were friendly and very welcoming. We arrived at 23:30hrs with 2 bicycles and they gave us the key to a secure room where we could keep them. Full marks all round! - Top hotel comfort at a budget price. Small hotel spread over adjacent houses, but this was not a problem. Extreamly clean, very comfortable, everything worked. Best hotel shower I've ever had; fast flow, water hot from start. Full English breakfast excellent. One night with breakfast for £34.99...you can't go wrong!

  For the price what was on offer was excellent, amazing value. The room, whilst basic in design and decor, was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the shower was superb. The staff were fantastic, very polite and courteous. A great example of this is that we mentioned to the girl on reception (Spanish girl - think called ... τι λέει ο κόσμος » Elena?) on the Saturday morning after the first night of our 2 night stay, that we needed our air con checked to ensure that it was working ok as we h - Staff on reception at check in were the most amazing I've ever come into contact with! The staff could not do enough for me despite booking .com not informing them I had even booked!
