  Surroundings were lovely. This is nothing against the hotel owners but I think I expected alot more because of the great reviews this place got. When we got there, we were upgraded to a family room, which I got really excited about, until we got to the room and saw it had a really tiny attic window and the television wasn't facing the bed, it was ... τι λέει ο κόσμος » facing the door. The bathroom was roomy but our bedroom felt small, I guess I thought it would be a bit bigger. The shower was terrible I am sorry to - the food was fabulous!! The history of the place ( from the 8th cent. Irish Monk to Queen Victoria), the décor was elegant ( I wanted to buy all the throws and pillows for my own home), inviting, & comfortable. Probably most important, was the way it was WAY away from the tourist saturated parts of the country--felt like we were alone to explore the country by ourselves, friendly and helpful staff, variety of activities to do in any weather, a GREAT base to explore many locations- we did d
