Situated alongside the coast in North York Moors National Park, YHA Boggle Hole is next to a bay that was once an infamous smuggler’s cove. Guests can search for fossils along the beach, and have fun exploring the rock pools for aquatic life. The charming fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay is just 10 minutes’ drive away. YHA Boggle Hole has a peaceful garden and a lounge for guests to relax in. Free private parking is possible on site, and Wi-Fi is also available. The historic Whitby Bay is just 20 minutes away by car. Guests can enjoy world-famous fish and chips at Harry Ramsdens in Scarborough, 30 minutes’ drive away. The majority of rooms contain bunk beds.

Loved the location!!! Couldnt be nearer to the beach if we'd tried :) Also loved how friendly everyone was - staff and other families. Lots of other kids around and safe enough to let them all run free like Swallows and Amazons. Also loved the fossil hunting! And piratey decor in the hostel, and the kids loved the quizzes and treasure hunts. Basically it was awesome and we had amazing beach weather :D.
όλα τα σχόλια » This youth hostel is a fabulous converted old mill that is situated about two minutes from the beach. It is warm,cosy with lots of comfortable settees, amazing decor throughout and a wonderful bar,coffee area. The food is excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful that nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a brilliant weekend.Thankyou. I loved the friendly welcome and the lack of silly wasteful items like paper serviettes and saucers at breakfast, which are basically unnecessary frills which many of us don't bother with at home...... but most of all the proximity to sea, woods and nature, and breakfast was fantastic value. Absolutely everything, i couldn't fault a thing as always. I have been returning now for approx 4 years and love everything about it. I have brought people with me during my stays and they have all felt the same. Its paradise for me. Than k You sooooo much. A very relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff (when child was sick!). The location is beautiful, right on an interesting bit of coast and we managed fine with two children (7 & 10) with no transport. Nice you can cook OR buy a meal or cake. We liked Boggle Hole being on the beach. We walked to Robin Hood's Bay along the beach which was great. The hostel is comfortable. The breakfasts were great and the kitchen facilities were great. Overall, we would come back again. first time in a hostel was amazing, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Had no issues with having four goths staying one being transgender mtf. the toilets and showers were clean we all had a fantastic time. romantic and secluded location on the beach, next to the river bed friendly staff clean facilities special doors and secret rooms for hobbits, well behaved mouse and I bet for many others creatures as well. The location is amazing - right on the beach The hostel is very child oriented - we enjoyed playing badminton outside after dinner The staff were friendly The coffee was good!. I thought the location was great, staff really friendly/helpful, facilities good. I liked the decor in the main building and quirky installations. The welcome was really nice, made me feel at home. Its a hostel full of charature, fantastic location just yars away from the beach. Particularly good for families. The staff, the food. everything. Price, generous room sizes, coffee machine with all the syrups, Mmmm. (Location - if we had gone away with the intention of having a relaxing time by the beach and back to nature, this would have been an amazing place to stay and will definitely consider coming back). The sitting room with kids dressing up box. The books, the beach, the little snack bar. Its a beautiful location and a lovely building. Location and food. Staff very friendly. The only thing difficult for us was accessibility with public transport.. we were lucky to meet some friendly hostellers who gave us a lift to the bus stop - not really easy to walk to with all our bags.. but then the Yorkshire coast buses dont really come when they say they are going to, so we were stuck at the middle of nowhere bus stop for 40 mins.. lucky for us it was a lovely day, but i wouldn't like to do that in a blizzard! :). Nothing. Nothing!. There is nothing that i don't like, wish you hadn't changed the sette's [away from the dining area because with them there it made it feel more comunal, cosy]. It can be quite cold in the dining area and could do with a little more warmth. The only down side is being so far from fresh veg, fruit, milk and eggs, with Robin Hood's Bay (20 min walk) being the closest place for basic shops. The room was a tad small, if there had been four of us, it would have been cramped. The carpark is VERY far away, so don't go there if you have difficulty walking. There could have been more pans and crockery in the kitchen. the fire alarm going off, and having to stand outside in the cold. But this did have a funny side. well, when I keep in mind, that this is hostel not a hotel, the only thing i can complain is actually my fault. to spend there half day and one night was not enough.. The computer wasn't working. There is nothing to diss like about it. Paid for meals each day. Not a great variety of foods on offer, tables were dirty and could have done with some music. General ambience was bland despite the potential of the dining area. Showers a bit cold. we were disappointed that the annex had been booked by a group of ladies- who then kept us awake until the early hours on the sunday morning. we had thought about staying an extra night but were too tired. if we had known that there was a block booking of this sort we may have cancelled. Showers and toilets were a bit small and uncomfortable to use. Steep climb in and out of area. lack of adult spaces 2 bed room very small. -. Getting the bags down from car and back again but small price to pay. Nothing. Noisy group of friends in next room. sheets look dirty. Our room was next to a toilet and with a toilet overhead. We were told we could tell people not to use it after 8.30 - I feel this should not have been left to us to do. For me personally, having no time to book another venue, it would have helped to know upfront that there is a very steep walk to and from the car park. In retrospect, this venue is definitely not recommended for disabled OAP's. The location - out of the way for local transport links / taxis. We would have been stuck if one of us didn't volunteer to drive as we were staying in order to travel to Whitby for the goth weekend. The beds were hard and the duvets not so clean although the covers and pillow cases were. The mixed toilets...not suitable with small children when there were drunken men being ill in them!!!. Bedroom next to communal areas so felt odd walking through other guests to get to room and was very noisy late at night then early morning again. Although original booking was made for a group of 3 families it want clear at that stage that we would be in separate buildings. Steel bunks. Odd sized & odd patterned curtains. Filthy windows. Shabby paintwork. No towels in private room.
