staff. Just went straight there at 9pm and left at 5am. The service to collect me from the station and take me to the airport was really good. Johnny on reception who collected me was polite, friendly and very efficient.I was picked up and dropped off at airport free of charge by friendly people. Sleeping. for one night is was really ok, the staff was friendly the room was clean and the shuttle service worked out very well and i arrived around midnight, the hotel is based in a nice area and you don't hear the planes. The provision of tea, coffee, bottled milk, bread, spreads and preserves, fruit juice, toaster, crockery and cutlery available at any time. Lovely site. Someone was on the premises overnight.On duty staff quite attentive, and called me before the stay to confirm transfers. I didn't stay at Stansted Cottages - was the poorer cousin known as the Cosy Inn. person working at the hjotel was very pleasant. Tranportation services to and from the airport. staff member was friendly. That it was like visiting 'Faulty Towers!. nothing - was an absolute disgrace. Our money was actually suposed to be refunded but was not. we are looking at taking this further. There aren´t bathroon into the rooms. Noisy guests and a door that banged right through the house everytime someone used it. A broken shower head. shared bathroom. The bathroom was not private, the hotel did not accept mastercard, and it was more far from the airport than indicated on the website. the bed was not really convenient and the breakfast was absent but all told it was ok for the price.Carpets and surfaces in the bathroom were not clean, TV was covered in dust. Proper thorough cleaning would make this an excellent place to stay, as it is we would not recommend it to any of our friends. International calls were free- not national. We could not get our TV's to work, though we were told to ring for help, but were too tired to. Room was confortable but there was quite a lot of noise from people entering and leaving rooms. Also the outside of the hotel was floodlit which meant there was quite a lot of light entering the room during the night which made it difficult to sleep. Upon arrival I was asked to pay imeadiately cash for the room, as they had no credit card facility.Over 10Km to Stanstead Airport; shown as 3Km on the Booking website. fairly crusty and had garish lights outside that shone through the blinds. It is not true that the BandB is 3km from Stansted Airport. It is actually about a 20 minute drive. It is also in a small isolated village, so no dining options nearby. The description needs to be more truthful. no hot water and shower was very poor. Blankets did not fit bed so no covers during the night!. To primitive breakfast. dirty room and bedcovers, single cover for 'double' (queen) bed. Driver for airport transfer used mobile phone (not hands free) whilst driving us!. lied about the distance of hotel to airport, there is no mention that the showers and bathrooms are shared!The rooms were horrible!. It was far further away than was stated on the website. The matress was very poor quality; I could fel the springs all night and the wooden boxes it was supported on. The room was not clean; there were dead insects lining the window.. There was a shared bathroom (not advertised) that was filthy. The quilt was very thin and was single bed size, so neither my partner nor I were warm, and a long etc.The hotel lied it is 9.8 miles from the airport not 3 km as advertised.No blankets, shared bathroom with all the other rooms. Would only dealin cash. Awake all nikght as guests arrived and argued with staff aboutthe rooms, distance, etc. please see other reviews which also warn ofproblems. We would not trush booking another hotel with your company asthe information was so wrong. the advertised location of the hotel was not it's actual location!. a room wasn't ready for me. then my room was a mess. the water wasn't running. it's on an animal farm and smells. despite all of this, the worst part is that it's not close to stansted airport. Yes ,,, most certainly lacked modernisation and value as well as askingfor cash only on the night, with a poor excuse that the Credit point wasnot working and had already over charged us in the hours preceedingvisit. Now awaiting "full" refund and excuses to follow. This is onevery annoyed and unhappy customer.Staff were not helpful and asked for another payment. Police shouldbe informed. Everything. It was filthy, the breakfast was not fresh. The sheets were not fresh. The fire alarm in the bedroom needed new batteries, so one of the men simply broke it out to stop it bleeping. It was horrendous.
