Colegio Mayor Olarain was a real breath of fresh air after a couple of
depressing budget hotel rooms--a big, airy dorm room with big windows
and lots of space. Breakfast was good too. But best of all was the
staff. While in San Sebastian I fell, cut myself badly, and needed
stitches. Next day I was concerned about the wound and staff drove me to
a clinic to get checked out. Wonderful people here.

Superb value for money, a 2 minute walk from a beautiful beach surrounded by mountains in a small bay. I was travelling with 2 small dogs and it's not always easy to find pet-friendly hotels but they were so accommodating and helpful. The staff were really very helpful. They sorted out my diet, helped us to book train tickets on line, helped to sort out the aftermath of a minor accident, were always very friendly...in short wonderful. The hotel was clean and modern, the room was good and comfortable, the breakfast was good- all in all very good value and highly recoemended.

The staff were very friendly and spoke English. We chose this hotel as we were arriving by car and didn't want to drive right into the city centre. The walk into town only takes 10-15 mins. We also loved the movie theme of the hotel and got the Bob Hoskins room. The rooms have DVD players and you can hire for free, movies from the hotel to watch, so we thought this was pretty cool. Can't comment on the breakfast as we went an ate elsewhere.

I stayed in a triple room with two other friends. The room was lovely. It is one of the few places I've stayed where the picture of the room looks exactly how it is. Couldn't possibly get a better location, right in the heart of the old city and within walking distance to everything. Staff are really friendly and gave us such a warm welcome and farewell. This Pension was spotless and the staff was so friendly. The pension is on door step of some amazing food granted with this location there was some night street noise. Shared bathroom never an issue here as many bathrooms for bedrooms.

Loved the location and the staff were very friendly (I'd say the friendliest we had in two weeks in Spain). Room was clean and bed comfortable. Our interior room was very plain but also very quiet. The location is excellent. Very close to the old town and all the bars and restaurants but far away enough you don't have sleepless nights from bar noise. The hostel is around the high end stores and it's a pleasure to stroll back to the place after doing the town. You can walk everywhere from it. A small balcony allows you to air the space.
