Easy to find the hotel because it is just in front of the Catedral. A few minutes walk to the historical town centre and Renfe station. Staff is also very friendly. I did not know the reception is not open at seven o'clock in the morning. Unfortunately I did not have a mobile available in Europe, so I tried to make a call from the reception desk but the pay phone is out of order. I have left a memo for room charge and when I arrived at Barcelona early afternoon I phoned to the manager for expl.
όλα τα σχόλια » Staff were very friendly and readily accommodated our request to change rooms so that we were away from a busy road. The room and bathroom were scrupulously clean. Centrally located, within walking distance to everything including the railway station, just a 10 minute walk away, with luggage. The staff helpful and informative staff enhanced our stay. We appreciated the information about Donostia, the history, customs and events and places to visit and things to do. We gained a better understanding of the area than we would have done as tourists in a hotel. Although we did not arrive at the time we had stated the receptionist was waiting outside for us. Very helpful with places to eat. Room extremely comfortable, on a busy road at front but obviously soundproofing. Perfect for sightseeing as right in the centre of town. Very well run by Juan with Maria as back up. We were all very happy with everything. Excellent for touring and city sights. We had wonderful advice from both as to best places to visit and that made such a difference. Would recommend highly. Clean, comfortable room with a good sized bathroom (large shower). Receptionist was great and really helpful. In the centre. A bit noisy outside because the frequent autobus traffic on the road. The room was tiny and did not correspond to the size described on bookings.com so that there was no room for luggage. There were no coffee/tea making facilities, no hair dryer except on request and no iron or ironing facilities in the room, not that there was any room for the latter. Value for money was not great in comparison to what we have paid for suites/apartments in other locations such as Madrid and Granada. Could have done with aircon as with the windows shut was very warm, although fan in th e room. If you drive to this hotel by car, the pension needs to advise that you can't park outside, but need to park in the parking station. We had trouble finding the address til we realised we had to go into the underground car park and then it was only 50 mtrs away. There is a cheaper parking station further away if you are staying for a few days. Juan will advise you of this. So no negatives, just a suggestion for the pension to put in their information booking notes. Parking was a 5-10 min walk from the hotel and was charged at 18 euro a night. Not exactly problematic but might be a bit awkward if you've got a lot of luggage. Only minor issue was being able to hear noise from reception and the washing machine upstairs as was part of a residential apartment block. This was never late at night so wasn't really a problem. The one downside is that there is a lack of dining options close to the pension (except for Alex about 2 blocks away -- very much recommended!). I think it was a bit pricy considering the austerity of the room. Empty mini-fridge. No a/c. No air conditioning or fan, no English-language TV channels, no dressing table. Accommodation noisy: double glazing to street very effective but walls within the building were very thin. The rooms all open up to the reception area and we could hear every coming and going & conversations in the entrance. Parking €24per day at public car park 2 min walk away. We had a room which faces street, it was a bit noisy. Marks on the walls, some cleaning/painting would help. Lack of character (despite reference to San Ignacio in its name), which is other side of contemporary renovation. Nothing. Street side room rather noisy. The rain unfortunately, but did not ruin our stay or visit.. Nothing. The cost of the accomodation. Too expensive. nothing. Parking was a little tricky. Noise from bar next block could be heard through walls well through night ...loud music. Bit noisy,. A bit expensive. The entrance is a bit gloomy. Did not have correct change for amount owed I.e. E297. Did not remember to reimburse E 3 owed. NO windows to outside. No personality - enthusiasm, those little extras that mean a lot. I.e. offering to carry a bag up small flight of stairs for lady of the couple. We had rooms on the roadside and it was extremely noisy with the sound of the traffic. Price. Room was small, hot. The only window in our room was pointing to the dirty shaft of the building. Parking option is in nearest public parking lot with high cost of 24.55 Euro per day. This place is not suitable for mature couple. We did not have a proper window. Our window opened onto the gap between the buildings so no light or moving air. Was so hot at night with no air movement. For nearly £100 a night, I would hope for better. I'd return to this hotel but not this room. . The room was smelly The bed sheets were damp.
