  The resort was close to a beach access. It had stockpiles of children's beach toys - buckets and spades etc. It had a pool and a sunbathing area overlooking a beautiful marina. It was about 200 yards from a Publix supermarket which was really first class. It was also close to a variety of other shops and entertainment venues over about a mile.   The Algiers is our favorite place to stay as a couple for a quick beach night. It is clean, well-appointed, and has a casual, laid-back feel. The people who stay there are respectful and quiet; we have never ever had a problem there.   The gulf view room was very comfortable and roomy. The room was ready as soon as we arrived (before check in time!)   I loved this hotel ... we wanted a beach front hotel for a good price. My husband thought it would be a dive hotel because we apid 119 + tax for a saturday night . bUT..WHEN We got there ..omg ,, wonderful .. the staff was great ...location was right on the beach ...grocery store acrossthe street , liquor/ restaurants . pERFECT . the restaurant on... was die leute sagen » location was great as well.. Several reviews have said this place is "retro" or out-dated which is not true at all. The lobby is just brightly colored as are the rooms - like the rest of St. Pete Beach - since the town has a coastal / art deco design. Honestly, this hotel really should be rated higher as it's great... Perfect beach access for a reasonable price, quiet and peaceful. I would stay again but next time longer!

Pool was clean, room was very clean and we had absolutely everything we needed. The owner works so hard and I hope that someday she gets to retire and relax. - So close to beach and restaurants.
