  This family run B&B was welcoming, comfortable, had onsite parking and was quiet. It felt like home. It is on the main road on the edge of the commercial strip across from the RSL. It is within walking distance of the beach. The continental breakfast ($10) was really good with fruit, cereals with yoghurt &/or milk, croissant, toast, juice ... was die leute sagen » and coffee or tea. We will certainly visit again. - It was close enough to the town centre but was still quiet, the owner was very helpful and friendly, the room was a good size and very comfortable, and everything was clean and welcoming. Didn't try the brekkie so can't comment on that but the choice of food and the price was great.

  The room was small but was always kept very clean. The hotel is in a quite location and it is only a 5 minute walk to the nearest train station which was very handy. The breakfast was great. George, the proprietor, was a great host. He knows all his guests by name and is always willing to assist. The room was larger than expected and we were quite comfortable for our four nights. George and family also provide your choice of a great breakfast. The location was good, we walked to the harbour and only took transit a couple of time but the hotel was easy for using bus or train. We enjoyed our stay.

  The scenery was fantastic, it is an idyllic spot in Hunter, walking distance to a couple of wineries and we spotted kangaroos on our stroll! The hosts were very helpful and more than willing to pass on information about the locality. The dog on the property was beautiful and very friendly. The breakfast provided was very generous. I have visited Hunter Valley previously and have to say this Guesthouse is one of the top stays I have experienced. Beautiful decor with attention to details, Thistle Hill grounds are stunning, breakfast very tasty with great choice of food, and Carol's baked pears just delicious!! We will definitely come back later this year.

  The ladies working there were just lovely! One stayed on until after midnight to check us in when our flight was delayed. They were so helpful with all of our questions. The place has a really homey feel to it. Interesting, historic, very comfortable. Easy stroll to the train station where everything is easily accessible.   Accomodation was very cozy and unique. Very peaceful, lots of space to have a nice evening walk, not over crowded and very reasonable.   We really enjoyed staying in a lovely B&B run by two people in Alyse and Shane who are fantastic at interacting with their guests, and clearly revel in providing such a great service. The location is quite close to Chatswood train station, which is about 15 minutes from the city center on a frequently served train line.   This is the third time that we have stayed here as a stopover on a drive from Sydney to Northern Gold Coast. Riverview Lodge is in a very pretty, quiet setting.
