I had originally planned on staying in a dorm to minimise costs but as none were available here or elsewhere ( I Ieft it til the night before to book) I booked myself into a pricier private room. It was much better than expected and I'd probably do the same again. For a very reasonable price I had a large queensize bed in a very spacious, well designed room with en suite toilet and shower. Location! Great location with sort of transportation methods. One station away from Manhattan with 4 stations away from Time Sq. Clean. Decors are relatively new, well maintained. I liked everything. Blank-it was a really great hostel and Ive no complaints. - Some beds are annoying as they don't stop bothering you with an annoying sound whenever you or your room mate move. I suggest to change the double beds to be hanged on the ceiling or the wall. Close to subway line would cause some noise while sleeping. Nothing. Just the outside noise of trains and traffic was pretty deafening -- but I got used to it. Lack of order in the kitchen, e.g. where the utensils were supposed to go Air-conditioning poorly placed in dorm - right above my bed! - and difficulty in changing beds. Four bed Dom was very small and lift facility was not available. Not enough people to handle front desk at check in and check out change of rooms in a two-day stay - means another check in procedure - so I left; bad policy. No privacy. Again....exactly what was advertised. As soon as I first walked into the room, a large bug ran across the floor. Squashed it and never saw anything like that again, so it could have been just a stray animal or someones pet. The room seemed to lack a proper ventilation, though. Your questions are poorly worded! They do not reflect travelers of business activity and personal travel combined together.
