  The staff is so welcoming and accomodating - honestly - treated everyone the same. We felt like we belonged there - even though we just came down for the night from Denver (to get out of Denver!) on a deal. We were treated like royalty from the minute we checked in. The staff could not have been more helpful and solicitous.   The view is fantastic! The restaurant serves wonderful food, again, with a spectacular view of the mountains. I took a swim in their heated outdoor pool, and while it was brisk, it still felt fantastic. Again, a great view of the mountains.   Wow! We had an incredible stay! The week before we had stayed at the Broadmoor. The customer service at the Academy Hotel was on the same par, and the atmosphere was great. My husband and I work in tourism and customer service, so this is something we are sensitive to. It's a bit unfair to only allow you to check in at 4 and you have to check out by 11 ... That's 5 hours if time paid for but not allowed to use.. Other than that we loved it . We usualy stay 2/3 times a month at a hotel (motel 6 and quality) the later of the 2 we will never stay again and 6 for the price it was a good 1 but it's hit or miss with things like the air working or haveing a microwave or frid
