  The hotel building and rooms were luxurious and fabulous. The staff were fantastic and went that one step further to make our stay even better! The facilities were exceptional.   The pub itself is lovely, nice and traditional with big log fires. The room we stayed in was located upstairs above the pub, it was big, clean and comfortable. Although the hotel is located in a quiet part we took a nice walk (2 and a half mile) along the canal into the city of Chester. We're there's many shops, restaurants and bars. It was a really pleasant atmosphere and a lovely location. Also we had dinner on Saturday which started a little late as we were a large group and the restaurant was quite full - we got to dessert and the waiter made it for us as the chef had finished for the day - superb service and more than could be expected.

  From the moment we walked into the hotel the staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The room was very clean and tidy plus spacious which was a bonus.
