  The location of the hotel is amazing, views of the castle and a minute walk to the town centre. The hotel itself is was very comfortable, with antique furnishings, and a fabulous open log fire. The staff were very attentative and extremely friendly, the food was excellent and there was a magnificent wine menu to choose from. Concerns over the heating in our lovely room were addressed straight away and we were given a suite at no extra cost which was superb. The breakfast was of a very high standard and I would recommend this superbly situated hotel to everyone.

  We had a very warm welcome on arriving and had been up graded to a deluxe four poster bedroom the room was amazing the staff very helpful.We had a bar meal in the evening which was very substantial and an excellent breakfast in the morning.The hotel is full of charm and if you love old buildings this is the place to stay.   This hotel was advertised as a 3 star, but it was a better standard than most 4 star hotels we have stayed in recently. The staff were lovely. The food excellent, and the room was fantastic.
