had a nice evening in your hotel excellent food staff freindly and would stay again A1 hotel. Helpful staff, good food (huge helpings), room comfort and facilities.Nice quite location , excellent breakfast. Excellent!! All of it thanks. The friendliness of the all the staff. The food was amazing. Very pleasant grounds. When our friend needed to extend his checking out time because of a bad back the staff were extremely helpful. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting Lowestoft area.

We also ate on our first evening which was also of a very high standard, on the second evening (a sunday evening, which had a different menu) the meal was fair.Warm welcome, comfortable room, plenty of hot drinks available in the room. It was a pleasure to arrive here after a long, tiring journey. The presentation, the food and the comfort. the friendliness of the staff. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was also great.The friendly and helpfull staff and lovely food. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.there for a funeral. The price, location. The staff were very accomodating, and really tried to make sure everything was done to make sure we had a pleasant stay. room size good , also being ensuite, food good , staff excellent. the location, the bathroom and the food was excellent. Wifi was down when we were there (minor point!).The only downside was having the view of a mobile home site behind the hotel, which I felt could be overcome by a taller fence or tall trees!!. More choice of vegetarian food!. Shower head wasn't big enough. Evening dinner could have been better (below average). The freeview did not work in my room - but I still had channels 1-4 and the shower was somewhat weak!. the shower and television facilities in the room. Perhaps some maps of the region could be available.The room was quite cold on arrival and the bathroom could do with a rethink. Lots of empty space. Seemed quite disorganised in view of the number of staff about. Breakfast should start at 7 am and not 730 am. Facilities were a bit old - but still excellent value at the price paid. Update TV coverage Only four channels available. Service and having a room next to the function suite. Our booking via the internet was incorrect and we were told we werelucky to be in an appropriate room. Not a good first impression. Thebathroom lacked basic toiletries for shower/bath and toilet was notfully clean. Spoon on teatray was dirty. Shaving light was not workingalthough we reported it on each of our 4 days there. I was extremly un happy about the whole experience of the carlton manor.We left the hotel at midnight because the beds were beyond unacceptable and no alternative was offered.In the morning the hotel manager called to apologise and stated that the beds had been found to be so bad that the hotel staff had thrown them away.No compensation was offered for the inconvienience caused.Very un happy.recent change of ownership meant new staff did not have good customer service. the way there was banging from fixing things at only 9 in the morning and a bolier like sound could be heard during the night. Restaurant Menu extremely limited for class of Hotel. The hotel were unable to take and card transactions and did not let us know before we arrived even though we phoned in advance to confirm our arrival on the day.The hotel looked, and was,seedy and dirty. I cannot understand how itachieved a 3 star status and will be writing to the assessors. We hadroom 14 on the ground floor, the corridors were dingy and the bedsitecabinet had marks of 'mould and damp'. I wouldn't recommend stayinghere at all.
