They really went all out to accommodate us and our dog. They shifted things around to get us a room and made us very welcome when we arrived. They had water ready for our dog on arrival and offered to dog-sit the following morning. Very pleased with the really homely welcome we received and it was all great value for money and a fantastic central location. Many, many thanks and would definitely go back if staying in Edinburgh. again
Nothing
Very friendly, excellent location and superb value for money.
A brighter colour in a small room for the curtains may have made it more welcoming to walk into. Only negative i can find!
The hotel was easy to find, first impressions were wonderful. Staff were well informed and very helpful, the room was large, clean and verging on luxurious. A well equiped shower room, which had a modern feel but not overdone. The hotel was a short walk from all the historic sites and the thoroughfare of Edinburgh, just around the corner from the playhouse, We would definitely stay here again.
No cooked breakfast.
Location, friendly staff, enjoyed meeting the hotel dog, beautiful creature.
I believe breakfast should be offered earlier than 0830 hrs.
location
Convenient to Edinburgh attractions, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast
Noise from busy main road would affect front facing rooms
friendly staff and relaxed atmospheer
road side rooms could do with double glazing to redue noise levels
Staff were very friendly
need new windows to reduce noise
The location of the Richmond is ideal, in walking distance of pretty much every tourist attraction in Edinburgh. The staff was extremely helpful.
Double glazing would really be advisable in the rooms that face the street...
very good centeral location
the staff is very helpful
Very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful.Room clean and spacious.
Unfortunately the hotel was being decorated and dining room, lounge etc. was unavailable.I imagine these facilities would be good when open. Television was very small.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Excellent location for Edinburgh Playhouse.
very good breakfast, warm rooms, free luggage storage, free internet, very quiet rooms and friendly staff.
the only bad thing was my pilow, very thin. anyway, excellent.
very close location to city centre
Very friendly helpful staff, large rooms, central location
walking distance to the city center, comfortable rooms
breakfast was rather basic
The price based on the location is very good. Received a very good welcome and the staff were helpful. Rooms were basic but clean
Breakfast was very basic continental. Could have done with more selection or with an option for a fully cooked breakfast for an additional cost. However beaing in mind the price for the room, this was not a real issue.
Cosy small hotel at walking distance from the centre. Very friendly staff, free and very efficient wireless connection in the room.
Amir on front desk was very helpful. He pointed out on a map where were located and how to get to all the tourist spots. He even pointed us in the right direction for dinner.
The breakfast was not that great
friendly staff, nice place to stay, near to city center
room on the street-side may be loud
very friendly staff - close enough to walk to centre (10 mins)
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast had a wide selection of non cooked items (including jam tarts?!). Also plenty of fresh coffee. Bed was very comfortable only snag being take ear plugs if you're room is at the front as the traffic was very loud. Not that the hotel can do anything about that! I wish the new restaurant good luck
Choice of music over breakfast could be a little more perky!
Central position. Value for money.
Bad traffic noise,
The staff, and particularly the restaurant staff. The meal was fantastic, the service friendly and helpful, and good company
problems with the heating -which was fixed, to be fair.
good value and easy to find
the central location
Proximity of hotel to Princes St and events at Edinburgh Fringe
close to city centre
as it said on the website, the noise from traffic in the front rooms was pretty bad.....thus i would recommend bringing a set of earplugs at bedtime.
The staff were very firendly, location was brilliant and good value for money
it was convenient for the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday and the Railway station
Yes. The noise from a group in the garden from early afternoon {which was fine} but not to continue all through the night until 6 a.m.
As well as above, location was great. Shower was excellent. Staff were very helpful.
Mattress was very poor and needs to be replaced. Hooks on drapes need to be reattached.
good beds, big rooms
Location near centre. Great value for money on rugby weekend
Not much of a breakfast
