The Edinburgh Lodge was welcoming and friendly. The staff are friendly and informative. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable, offering en-suite facilites with added touches. Breakfast was great too. The location was suitable for a 15 minute walk to Princes Street, and the Castle and also for driving out of the city for touring to other destinations. 所有评语 » Very nicely decorated hotel/friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast room and service. Bathrooms modern and clean. If you want to stay out of central downtown, are driving a car and take buses and tours, this works very well. Some signs of wear and tear here and there but it has the character of an older building which was exactly what I was looking for in Scotland. The downstairs sitting room with snacks and bar fridge a nice feature. Business office available. Spotless and very friendly staff. massive room and very warm with two radiators to control heat up or down as required. Great breakfast choices and a small bar area too. Five minutes walk from Haymarket station so superb location too. Plenty of room for parking no matter how often we went out there was always space when we returned. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very pretty and very large. It was so easy to access the train station and the lady on reception was helpful as to where to eat, which was also in very close vicinity. Easy to access the airport also!. The hotel provided off street parking (extended after checkout on final day). The room was well furnished and clean. Everything worked as expected. Room and bathroom not large but again as expected in older style building with character. Breakfast was ample. Good location with easy travel by bus into Princes Street. Being able to park the car and not have to touch it until we left was very useful. Our room was large and well appointed. We slept well. Breakfast was good with an extensive choice available. We stayed at The Lodge for two nights in July, whilst visiting the golf at Muirfield and found the facilities and the staff to be excellent. The only minus was for delay in terms of cooked breakfast. up to 15 mins. This was only a minor thing for us as we were not in a hurry any morning to get anywhere though it might be annoying for someone with a tight schedule. Bathroom needs updating. The sat nav wasn't very good in finding the hotel and coping with the road works in Edinburgh. Need to plan ahead for next time. The carpet in our bedroom was shabby. The croissants were not buttery and flakey. The shower head kept sliding down so it was hard to have a good shower. The hotel had problems with its electricity supply but all we got were notices left on the breakfast room door to go to another hotel. The main door was closed and we would not have been able to re-enter to collect our cases had we not had the foresight to take them with us to breakfast. No lounge only small room with mini bar but as we were out most of the day not a problem. Would have been nice to have a bigger sitting room. My two pet breakfast hates in Scotland (I'm Scots) -the natives can't make coffee and they provide jam/ marmalade in horrible plastic pots. Apart from these, all was great!. Would have liked to have lunch and dinner. Room smaller than expected. Breakfast smaller than expected. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing really. Pillows were a bit hard and flat. Needs more shelving in the bathroom. Our room faced the street so we had some traffic noise, plus it was next to the buildings front door so we had people coming in late at night noise. No a/c and it was a warm Scotland day... Nothing, everything was perfect. Nothing. Noise ay breakfast time. The breakfast was not rich. There was very cold in the room (the room direct at the recption) during night. we only stayed for 1 night so really there was'nt anything we can comment on. Nothing to complain about. Very Poor water pressure in the shower. Odd noises, particularly at night (pipes?). Sometimes had to wait for hot water, and no bath.
