was only in the isle of man working unfortunately but this hotel was exceptional, the staff faultless, hotel was very clean in a good location right on sea front and the breakfast was amazing the menu was extensive and you could have anything i had full manx and it was cooked to perfection. hopefully i will get back to Douglas for a break and will definitely be staying at this hotel.Even the parking wasn't an issue as you can park outside overnight and all day in the car park 100 yds away for .
所有评语 » This place was amazing! The room was beautiful and had an awesome view!!!! They even give you chocolates and have a nice sitting room where you can mingle with the other guest. You can see the horse trollies right out front and there is a stop to get on it right there also. Had an amazing breakfast! They also held our luggage after we checked out, since our flight wasn't till late in the day we wanted to explore but didn't know what to do with the luggage. Next time we come we will definitely s. The staff, food, accomadation and situation were excellent. We were on the 2nd floor which boasted a superb view of Douglas bay (stairs would be hard to climb for the elderly and disabled, especially with your lugage). Our room (number 12) was spacious, modern and clean with a wall mounted tv. Some lovely thoughtfull extras were also a bonus. I would definately stay here again if visiting Douglas. Would recommend as this hotel offered true value for money. We liked everything, our hosts Paul and Pauline were charming, helpful and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and modern. The breakfasts were fresh and well cooked. Location perfect for day trips out to the country side and for a good choice of restaurants at night. The street behind Ellan Vannin is good for shopping, telcos and souvenirs etc. Great location for railway,bus ,tram and ferry and shops.Very friendly staff and owners,made to feel at home.Very clean ,good beds ,showers and tiolets.Nice lounge with sky tv.Great food breakfast and evening meals and plenty of it.Great value for money, highly recommend this Hotel.Would recomend owners to advertise in heritage railway magazines. Really nice staff very helpfull,breakfast food & service very good. We stayed during the very cold snowny week in March when the island was badly affected.The room was cold due to high easterly winds,when we mentioned this to the management they arranged for extra heaters. Very good location & no problem with overnight parking. The staff were very friendly, their information pack in the room was so helpful and interesting. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety and it was served hot and freshly cooked. loved the. Christmas tree and decorations. I have stayed in many hotels in Douglas this one tops the lot with it's cosy atmosphere.. Seaview double bedroom was extremely spacious with two armchairs in bay window offering superb views over Douglas bay. Well equiped with flat screen TV(Freeview only) and tea/coffee making equipment in all bedrooms. Breakfast choice and portions excellent. All staff very friendly and helpful. The room was as description good view , well fitted comfortable beds constant supply of coffee and biscuits! Good size bathroom . Breakfast was as little or as much as you could eat from continental or full English! Friendly and helpful staff . Excellent hotel good value. I travelled to the Isle of Man on business. The hotel was right on the seafront and easy to find. The staff were very pleasant and helpful,especially the gentleman who was on reception when I arrived. Breakfast was very good, all in all an excellent place to stay. Stayed Dec 2013 for 2 nights in east side suite. Early check-in, excellent accommodation, very convenient location, very helpful and pleasant owners and staff not to mention really good breakfast. Some renovations underway but not obtrusive. Highly recommend!. Really nice modern room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for the shops an bars. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and plenty of choice. We can't fault the hotel and staff in anyway. We Will return to the hotel at some point. what a pleasure to stay at the ellan vannin! Paul and Pauline were wonderful as were their staff. This is a great little hotel. A warm welcome and they went to the trouble of making me a packed breakfast due to an early start. The room (No 1) was spacious and modern. Not in anyway shabby. I will come back to this hotel. the sea view room we had was spacious and very comfortable the bed was one of the comfiest ive ever slept in the staff were very friendly and the food was on a par with many 5 star establishments ive stayed in. Helpful,friendly staff and great breakfast . there was absolutely no issues at all. There is a bar/club right next door that plays music till about 11pm. Which that in itself isn't late at all. Its the crowd that hangs out and is real loud after they get kicked out of the bar at midnight. They tend to hang out right under your window till 1-2am talking and yelling. Not really the hotels fault, maybe they can talk to the bar and see if they can get them to not hang out right there once it closes. Not a lot to dislike really. The only points I would make would be that the noise from the passing traffic would possibly wake light sleepers early as rush hour begins, but thats the price you pay for being in the thick of things. The only other thing would be that it had no private parking but we found a space easy enough directly outside and the parking is free between the hours of 6pm and 10am, all other times is also free but limited to 2 hours. Not acciplable. The hotel is a little dated, but the new owners are working toward upgrading the facilities. First floor double bedroom at rear of property faced a wall 4 metres away so felt 'penned' in. OK if you came in late to sleep in but not to spend daylight hours in. Soap dispensers although appeared new were broken. Showers without thermostatic valve had fluctuating temperatures, easy to scald!. On Saturday night till 3am the noise from nearby establishment and the revellers woke me several times . This was no fault of hotel perhaps tripe glazing may help or tell local establshment to ask their customers to leave quietly!!. The hotel was grand. Nothing to dislike. there was nothing that my sister-in-law and I didn't like. Unfortunately we hadn't requested a low floor room and because of my husbands difficulty with stairs, it was problematic for him. Nothing really. the only downside was no lift so if youre elderly or infirm it could be a problem. Rooms are small but space is used very wisely so it isn't too bad for a short trip. Room lacked a table + chair where a laptop can be used from. Lack of parking but the same will apply to almost all hotels along the Loch Promenade. Rooms could do with a tiny safe for storing valuable items. Can't fault them really. The stairs, but in a victorian house/hotel this was inevitable. The staff carried our bags up for us. There was nothing not to like except for getting in through the front door of Gloucester House where we stayed. the door was hard for a woman to push open, so I was reluctant to go out alone. nothing!. Lot of stairs no lifts, however the the owners will help with the bags. At £100 per night I'd expect proper coffee, fresh milk and a selection of teas in the kitchen. The 'just enough' sachets seem stingy. Loud blaring TV and constant clattering of utensils and crockery in the breakfast room was imposing and unpleasant. Quiet gentle music would have been much better. the bed was quite uncomfortable as it was two singles stuck together and you could feel this. There were no issues at all. Purely subjective as my 85-year old mother found all the stairs up to room and down to breakfast hard-going. Nothing else! A lovely family-run hotel. The reception would benefit from de-cluttering. "Ellan Vannin" is a good name. The sign over the entrance does the job but can't help thinking that a more prestigious sign, in keeping with the building's architecture, would be a good investment. Not Applicable. a minor point, but my ensuite bathroom was tiny !!. We agree - nothing to not like!!. Nothing. There is nothing to dislike! This place is fabulous. stairs may be a problem where mobility is an issue, although those fit enough would gladly swap the climb for the view from upstairs. the stairs - we were on the top floor and i felt they might mention this on the website and a room on the upper floors might not be suitable for some with walking difficulties. None. Mountain biker guests , power washing their bikes over arriving guests and other pedestrians . Not too keen on Douglas as a destination Has a slightly run down feel and a poor choice of restaurants. The room was well designed and clean, but the windows hadn't been cleaned for some time. Maybe the view from the back bedrooms but that can't be helped and we weren't on holiday to sit in a room anyway! :-). A protective mattress cover made the bed " crunchy" and too warm. Rather a drag up to 3rd floor. Could really do with a lift. Also parking out on the promenade was difficult at times. The only draw back which was not in any way the hotels fault was on the final day being required to vacate the room before 10 am and waiting around for the evening flight with no secure place to store luggage. can honestly say nothing. Room a little bit small and shower didnt work well but i fixed it. Nothing.
