This central Stockholm boat hostel is docked at Skeppsbron quay on Gamla Stan Island. It provides free Wi-Fi in public areas, a communal TV lounge and terrace with views of the scenic surroundings. Basic wooden furnishings are found in all cabin rooms on board Ånedin Hostel. They have either private or shared bathroom facilities. Some feature a window and seating area. Guests can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet on Hostel Ånedin. A variety of restaurants and cafés are found in the area surrounding the hostel. Stockholm Central Station is a 20-minute walk away, while the Slottsbacken Bus Stop is within 100 metres of the boat. Area landmarks include the Royal Palace, Kungsträdgården Park and Skeppholmen Island.

The location is perfect, since the boat is anchored to the shore of the Old City (Gamla Stan). I reserved a Superior Room, with a nice view on Skeppsholmen Island and the white vessel anchored there. My room had also a nice bathroom, much larger than I expected on a boat, with bath and a boat window (I guess this is a plus of the Superior room only). Last but not least, I found very romantic to sleep on a boat!.
所有评语 » This was a good hostel, I did not mind the size of the room very much. The staff was very good, and I booked a room without a window, and then they were too nice to give me a room with a window! The view is very cool and the location is excellent, right by the old town and a short walk from the national museum and the important locations in Stockholm. The price is fair in an expensive city like Stockholm!. Location location location! That is the most obvious benefit. But the whole staying on the boat experience is really cool, it's a fairly old vessel but in good shape and if you don't expect luxury you will be super happy. Cafeteria area is a nice meeting spot where all the guests hang out, bring their own food and drinks and stuff. Plus a great view from the upper deck!. The room we were initially given was terrible as it was next to the engine room and was like an oven but the staff managed to find us another room which was bigger and more importantly not overheating. It is cool to stay on a boat but I would only recommend it for a couple of nights as a novelty. The central location at the Old Town of Stockholm and the views surrounding the old Ferry/Ship. and as I as a young Seaman also had served as a crew member on-board in the mid 60ts my stay where more of a nostalgic nature than any other consideration. I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Location excellent, one of the best in Stockholm, especially considering the very low price. Rooms comfortable with ensuite bathroom & shower. Near to very nice restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, sightseeing and transportation (Stockholm metro station about 10 mins walk). When arriving in the middle of the night we were met by a very friendly receptionist who gave us a pleasant room with a nice see-view. We will contact you the next time we are visiting Stockholm and we have also told our friends about you. Lisbeth and Kaj Myntti from Finland. excellent location, living on a boat was interesting, pretty close to the metro station, like a 7 mins walk, however you are right in the center and can basically walk anywhere. Rooms are small without any closet but if you stay for a night or 2 i think is good enough. Incredible location, FUN place to stay, especially with kids, really nice staff, and lovely history on the boat! The M/S Birger Jarl is showing her age a little bit, but then again, she is 60! You did see signs of it, though, but it kind of added to the charm!. Location and setting! I don't think happen often to be on a boat in front of a Royal Palace. I really think is one of the best located facilities in Stockholm and being on a boat really adds to the whole trip experience/setting. Staff was great, the two people we met were caring and had a good sense of humor. We couldn't sleep on the first night due to noise from the neighbours, so we were moved two floors higher, which was super kind of them. Perfect location in the city centre next to Gamla Stan (the old city), almost opposite the royal castle. I parked my bike almost in front of the boat. Helpful staff and a very atmospheric place. Good value for money. The location was fantastic. I stayed alone in a superior double which was far cheaper than hotels on land. The room was a great size with a wardrobe and bathroom. When we arrived, we room was under repair. A solution was quickly found, with an equivalent room (even better). The hostel is well situated (town center). The hostel is located in the old town, has a wonderful view from its decks. The price, of course, could be lower, but it's ok for city center. Great location. Nice surprise on arrival with news that we'd been upgraded from a standard cabin to a superior suite free of charge!. The ventilation pump is noisy and works continuously during the night. Moreover, in my room there was no need of ventilation, since one could open the window and enjoy the fresh air from outside. It could use some renovation, needs some work on the computers and WiFi and stuff, you have to be in the common area to use the internet. Air con is a bit loud but you can get used to it. Bathrooms are tiny and a bit mouldy if you look close enough but overall it's a very good deal nevertheless. The wifi is only available in public areas and due to it being a ship even cell coverage is limited. Try not to get the tiny room next to the engine. No Complaints. While comfortable, the room is very small and not soundproof. We didn't hear our neighboors talk but could hear when they played music (and sang along quite loudly, I should add). The water in the shower was not warm a few of the mornings. The breakfasttable could have been a bit " richer ". small room (was not that big deal for us), no closet, very small room for a shower, right next to the toilet (but is a boat so is normal that everything is small), but also a good thing that was not shared. The parking situation was really bad and expensive! There was parking right outside the ship, but it cost us 350kr to park for 14 hours! The mattresses were a bit on the thin side, so the beds weren't as soft as they could have been, and the pillows could have had a little more 'oomph,' but otherwise, that was it!. If you don't like/can handle staying in a cabin (mostly related to fresh air/available space) it can get problematic. Lower floor cabin was pretty dirty, we even used slippers in the shower. But it was ok for the price, we had 35€/night/person. Very thin walls too, everything that was said in the next room and the hall could be made out clearly inside our cabin. Upper floor cabin was sweet, very recommendable, though I don't know what it would have cost. I thought the breakfast was overpriced (although I know Sweden is expensive). The shower was a bit of a challenge - the shower head didn't stay where it was put. The en-suite needed a deep clean. - no window - simple room and bathroom - no wifi in the room. Very small cabins (though it was rather expectable for us), there's no place for baggage at all. We stayed only one night without luggage, so it was OK, but for longer stays there may be problems. The size of cabins in combination with dark walls and faint light may make feel uncomfortable. The cabins are very small, and the bathroom is really basic. But if you are there for a night or two and you are looking for a bargain, this is the place to stay. You can not open the window (the porthole) that is not so comfortable if you are staying more than one night. Tiny rooms. I am not complaining - I was ready for that in a ship, but be also prepared. There was no double, but it is a boat. What can you do, you can't have it all. No wifi in the room, only in the common rooms. No room service to clean room daily. the bathroom is dirty, and location is at the old town. no public transportation to the train station. it is also expensive to take a cab. The room is very very small. The interior of the room was very worn and there was a weird smell in the room. Small rooms, but it's ok taking into consideration that it's a ship and not luxury one. outside has a restaurant which has loud music for the whole night. I had no toilet of my own in my cabin. Noisy fan in the room. Tiny room, dirty floor. A tip, book a room with window that opens!. Room is a bit small. No wifi in the room. It was cold in the room at night. Floors were a bit grubby. Window didn't open, no big deal though, good value for money. Public toilets should be clean more often. Loved everything--would never stay anywhere else. Very noisy. The cabin is small. The air ventillation system was too loud, and unable to switch it off. The wall was too thin, so you can hear your neighbours. Not.
