One of the cleanest hotels where I have stayed in Sri Lanka. Since it was the first I was surprised at the bathroom but they are almost like that everywhere in Sri Lanka: small and not modern. The shower is in one corner and there is nothing separating it from the rest of the bathroom and ergo the water will spread. However it is like this in most hotels (which are not big western hotels). The staff is very friendly. They give you a glass of fresh juice in the morning together with the sri Lank.
所有评语 » this was my second time I stayed at the saffron. first time i came for my business and i had a good time in my first stay. that is why i decided to come second time with my wife to stay in the saffron. we had a very good time and my wife was very happy. we got a nice room with antique furniture. and hotel staff arranged city tour. it was really nice. we enjoyed in the beach and could see nice places. food also really nice. we could arranged a trip to kandy with a hotel car. everything was good. such a nice hotel to stay after a long flight had a very comfortable sleep coz it is in very peaceful area. easy to reach to the city center. when ever you need to go to the center you can get their service. it is little bit away from the city but no matter withing few minutes you can get to the city. when we compare with the price where we can stay in the city this is a good opportunity for you. wow breakfast was yummy with fresh fruit and herbal drinks. I loved it. I hope to stay at THE SAFF. me and my husband selected this cute hotel after read the comments on letsbookhotel.com. Yes it is a really nice hotel. we enjoyed very well with their friendly service. we decided to arrange our round trip with a hotel car since the guy who talked us regarding the tour is a well known person about the places. And we had a nice driver too. of course he is very helpful. still we are on our trip.And not only that the hotel surround is very quiet. we wanted to have a relaxation coz long working pr. I was really happy with the saffron. I spent a good time and the staff directed me for a nice city tour with a nice person. I had my dinner from the hotel. They made me sri lanka style rice and curry. Wow the food is fantastic. Early morning I had to leave coz my flight was at morning time. I had my breakfast at 6.45 am it was good. A person who is working to the hotel took me to the Airport. He is a nice person. It took 50 minutes time to reach to the Airport. Everything was fine I liked very . Family run place by a very friendly couple... Dilruchi the lady of the house is always there to help you out. She cooks nice fresh food if you order. The place is very clean... nicely tucked away in a very quite neighbourhood. I shifted from a five star hotel to here and had no problem at all. Hey! You get what you pay for and here you get more than what you pay for. The staff are always smiling and the owners are great. Super value for money. I liked everything really, no complaints. The place was clean, very calm & relaxed. Great to get away from it all but close to Colombo sights, beach, cafes etc. Staff were excellent, very helpful & friendly. Transport can be arranged & I got good advice regarding cost etc. All in all, excellent. Stayed one night and came back for more after 10 days.Great, helpfull stuff.Just ask them and you will get everything (from food till advises where, what, how to go or to do). Thanks for everything guys. Friendly, helpful staff. Large, clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast. Quiet location. Good reasonably priced laundry service. Free big drinking water on departure - a very nice touch. We very much enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the absolutly fantastic Sri Lankan food! We also went on a trip organised be the Saffron for 6 days and that we enjoyed very much!. Staff, value for money and location. It is not far from city center as some are stating. In big cities we do waste more than an hour in traffic. It takes only 15-20 mins to downtown. very nice and helpful staff. Simple, clean room. Good breakfast and affordable prices for dinner. Quiet location. Staff are extremely friendly, very attentive and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Quiet too!. Very friendly staff Good meals at breakfast and dinner time. Clean, nice staff, good food. The Saffron was excellent value for the money. For about 40 dollars a day, we received a room furnished with antiques, a fan and air- conditioning and breakfast was included. Staff were warm, friendly and patient. The surroundings were natural and very Sri Lankan in presentation and provided a quaint and charming atmosphere. Breakfast provided time for patrons to socialize as well as converse with staff. Clothes washing was provided at a cost. The staff is very professional and helpful, they gave us very good information for our trip and they arranged a pick up from the airport. Price, staff, clean rooms, chip and pretty good food. Nothing , I get my room at 2am and I left at 5 am I just used the bathroom and change my cloth I can not sleep there. It is quite far from the center and most tuk-tuk drivers do not know where it is. If you pay more than 400 rupees from Fort you are being robbed. It is possible to get buses but only until a certain time. Do not ask directions from tuk tuk drivers, they will tell you whatever they think will make you take their ride. we enjoyed very well. nothing dis like. you will have a very nice time. Every thing was fine with me. For the price it is nice..... nothing wrong with this place. The only thing is location but taxi or tuck tuck are really cheap so its a bargain. Only thing I think would be mosquito screen on window. Arrived at 10.30pm directly from my flight and the (very helpful) security guard was the only staff member available to check me in. No drinking water in room (the cool security guard fetched me a bottle immediately on request). Location is far from the beach / city centre and hard to find (taxi driver called to receive directions so no problem). Beware of the mosquitos. Tell Anthony in advance that you need some kind of mosquito repellent since they have a variety. Location in not close to city centre. It is quite a way from the centre, perhaps a 20-30 minute tuktuk ride. Breakfast was a little boring too, just eggs and toast but for a short stay, it's fine!. The hotel is a distance from the city centre and a tuk tuk is essential. Possibly the greatest challenge at the Saffron were the ants and the mosquitos. This coupled with occasional power cuts led to the need for several showers and changes of clothes as well as plenty of mosquito guard and anti-itch cream. Travelling to Colombo would cost approximately 500 rupees both ways and the distance from Colombo was inconvenient at times. I missed more variety at breakfast. Water was cold, no shower curtain and rock-styled watering can is totally inconvenient. Tuktuk driver ordered by hotel's recepionist made several circles aroiund the destination place before finish the trip. I was just watching at Google maps and laughing, because the trip was still chip, but it was funny. -Not clean at all -it is not a hotel . -expensive about 65$ -they close the door and the light at night even you can not get out from the home. -The photo at the site is totally diffrent than the reality . I dont advice any one to sleep there specialy with 65$ per night .
