It's like having a second home in Madrid, I mean, not a posh home haha the kind a regular person would have, the staff extremely helpful and you could feel at ease from the very moment you got into the hostel. Not posh but extremely functional. Plugs everywhere, locker, wifi password posted on the walls...
It's not a cool posh place, it's easygoing and pleasant. If you're looking for cosiness and a pretty room this is not your place.
Clean, spacious and good receptionist
Perhaps they should point out that their kitchen has no stove. The female cleaner is also problematic. The check out is at 11am but she came to my room at 10.30am and asked to get off my bed because she wanted to clean the room. The noise from the vacuum and the smell of the detergent used to mop the floor is very irritating. So next time please clean the room after the check out time!
I liked the hostel very much, especially the staff. My priority was location and thanks to the closeness to Tribunal metro station I could travel relatively quickly to the airport. What's more, it was one of the cheapest hostels in Madrid, and still located close to Puerta del Sol and the city centre.
The staff were absolutely wonderful - friendly and helpful. The common areas were great to chill out in. Everything was super clean.
This is not a very social hostel. Most of the people staying there were people who had recently moved to Madrid and were looking for an apartment instead of travellers, and therefore everyone was on their laptop instead of making an effort to socialise. I also didn't like how there was no bench to put your stuff on in the showers. Also, the street in the front was extremely noisy at night, although it didn't bother me as I had good earplugs.
The huge living area was great, with couches and tables it provided a fantastic relaxing environment and was a great way to meet people. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, too. Great price. Overall, good value for money.
Despite the description, the dorms weren't air conditioned, and we had to sleep with the windows opened which meant disturbance all night from traffic below. Also the photos are all of single beds, but every room I could see had bunk beds, so I found that a little misleading.
Fantastic location, friendly staff, free breakfast, adequate beds, wifi in rooms, clean showers, good communal space.
Was a bit warm and stuffy in the dorms
Fantastic welcoming staff. Excellent location. Clean, modern hostel with spacious communal area. Top-class.
Blinds have to remain closed on windows, so no views. It is a regulation in Madrid hostels.
stuff is very nice to us and also breakfast was pretty cool for that kind of hostel.
bathrooms were clean but; there were some left over things inside of the bathroom like shampoos, gilettes etc. they could thrown away everyday.
staff location clean comfortable
Staff, facilities, Location
actually don't know, everything was good.
The stuff is really friendly. The hostel is located 5 minutes from Gran Via, main street of Madrid. The lounge room is very cozy
The Wi-Fi connection isvery slow in thr rooms, so, you have to surf Internet in loubge room. But as the lounge room is very cozy, it's not a problem.
Everything was great, the staff was friendly
The staff was excellent.... 24 hours a day, friendly, and open to conversation at 4am... haha
Free breakfast, good vibe to meet people.
Showers were cold if you were up later then others. Rooms got very hot and noisy in summer time. The staff found us a fan though.
Rudy made my experience in Madrid so great. He's so helpful and goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to making the guests happy. The hostel has a huge common room so it's very easy for people to meet each other. The other staff members are equally as nice. It was very easy to go up and talk to them at the desk even if I had a question as simple as, "What would you recommend?" The hostel is also close to the city center so I didn't need to buy transport passes. I will definitely come back to Hostel Era if I return to Madrid!
The host! He is excellent! I really felt being a guest, not a customer. The location is very good -- all the main attractions are no more then 30 minutes walking distance
Noisy. Side effect of staying right in the center. Sometimes water in the shower was not warm enough.
It is near the metro stop, which is convenient for tourists to reach everywhere in the city. Good choice for people with limited budget.
They charge for 1 euro for leaving luggage there if you check out and pick it up later in the day.
the hostel is right in the heart of Madrid. Very good location. the staffs are supper nice. it is clean and comfortable. One best place to stay in Madrid.
nothing, I will stay in this hostel again when I go back madrid.
Location is really good however it is noisy at night
- Staff was very friendly and helpful - Great location - Clean
- Pretty noisy
Amazing!!!! Maria is the best!!!!!
The staff, the location, the environment.
Cheap price, near metro station, enough electric sockets, they keep the light dim after mid night
Cleaning staff is some kind of rude... cleaning your bed before you check out even you things are still on bed, facilities are a bit old
centrally located, super clean and comfy. the shower was very nice and there is even an air conditioning in the room.
the only thing is that the hostel is located close to the walking street which can be a bit noisy at night.
Excellent staff and a very good level of service. Good value for money.
Very good price for a very good hostel. Very well located, near metro station and other facilities
No complains
Could not fault this hostel, staff where really helpful and friendly and hostel was perfectly clean and you got a good free breakfast. It also is in an excellent loaction right near the cool Malansa area with all vintage shops and cool bars and you could walk to any major attraction in 2Omins. As a solo female traveller I felt totally at home, would stay here again if I was in madrid and would recomend to anyone!
Nothing!
Staff was very nice and friendly, the kitchen was very usefull.
The room should have better windows because during the day was hot.
Quite good location, friendly and "Helpful" staff! Rudy u the man! ;)
Nothin!
Very comfortable hostel, really friendly staff, good location!
It in in a great location. Easy to find and go to centre with in 10 mins. Sheets, toilets etc. were clean.
Breakfast is not adequate. The soap was terrible. I didn't understand why they didn't choose a liquid soap.
The staff was awesome, very helpful and friendly. The location is very good all main sightseeings in a walking distance.
Nothing
Staff at Hostel Era is very friendly and knowledgable! The hostel is very clean. I was in a room next to the lounge, if noise bothers you you may want to bring earplugs as it can be loud. I used mine and it was fine. There is cereal and toast, juice, coffee and tea for breakfast (included). A very good stay!
the persons are very nice, and the location is ok
the water is cold and near the hotel is a little noisy.
The best quality-price.
very clean place and friendly staff, but basic. nice area.
The location is very good! If you come here for a football match, it will be perfect! The stadium is on the same metro of the hostel. And it is also near the center. Just 10 minutes walking.
The cleaning is not very good. There is a lot of hairs on the bed. The breakfast is very simple and made by yourself. But considering the price of the hostel, it is reasonable.
Kindly and nice staff, also clean room, bed and bath room
Great location, easy to get around. Friendly & helpful staff
Very hard to unlock the front door
The stuff there are very friendly.
There is no charging outlet for each bed. So it's not so convenient when you want to charge your phone while sleeping.
Rudy was really kind and all staffs were kind too. Near the 'plaza de sol'
Dark room;-(
