the staff was exceptionally friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. the rooms are spacious and the bed are really comfortable. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and we can safely say all the meals were gourmet meals which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Gateway holiday for a wonderful stay. the cleanliness of the hotel. bar area was just amazingly relaxing and even my kids could join us for light lunches. attached to shopping mall and fitness centre and fantastic restaurants. weekend spent there was just awesome. cant wait for a holiday break soon.

The room itself was comfortable and modern in design...loved it!. The room was modern, clean and spacious. The staff always remained friendly and helpful right through our 16 day stay. The breakfast was also of good quality. Thank you!. Hotel and Rooms - was very very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Close to shopping centre Gateway. Beds very comfortable and linen very clean and crisp. Breakfast a bit pricy should have a discounted rate for business peopple coffee\ fruit or toast\ coffee room servioce over priced room only 10\10. Rooms are big, clean and all necessary amenities are provided. I particularly like the security of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. The location is excellent if you want to go shopping at Gateway. The cleanliness of the room was to a very high standard. The efficient service. Check -in and check-out was quick and no fuss. Staff were always prompt in dealing with requests. Staff very friendly,love the decor of the hotel food was good and nect to the shopping centre and it was affordable. The elegancy and design of the room - stunning. The location is also convenient. THE PLACE WAS REALLY CLEAN. I book the hotel for our Directors and they were quite happy although both feel that they would like a value for money room alternative with a bath for longer stays. Beautiful hotel, staff great! The night we stayed, there was a concert in the mall, so it was very loud. Had to check out the following morning- must commend management for taking off R500 of the bill to compensate for the noise. Otherwise great hotel especially if you want to do some serious shopping!!!. I think the people at reception could be friendlier. It was my first visit to the hotel and the person that I dealt with was really not friendly as were the rest of the people at reception. That first impression is important. The restaurant staff and room service was very good. Right next to the Virgin Active gym and the plethora of restaurants around the Gateway centre. -Great showers and baths. -Spacious rooms -Proximity to shopping and restaurants. The breakfast staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is beach side and luxury. convenient. nothing. Nothing. No Fridge Towels could be a bit whiter. Prices for food and drinks non alcholic to high but a great hoptel if you like noice. I ordered a glass of wine which I paid R25 for but received only a quarter of a glass - bit unhappy about that. When one order a glass of wine you would expect to get value for money. Nothing at all!. I don't fancy the design of the bathroom facilities. A mini-bar fridge would have been ideal. I needed to store a few cold items and I was not aware that there was no fridge in the room. Towels in room (grey). Only a small issue. The music at the wavehouse was a bit loud but eventually that also stopped. Restaurant could have a bit more decor, I realise the whole theme of the hotel was minimlist but I wanted to feel I was eating out, fodd was very good though. Nothing. No food and drinks available after 10.30pm. This was also the case with the shopping centre. Nothing. The parking space for guests is pathetic. Not well planned out and I was not catered for with a hired car. I was told to park in the mall. And it's ridiculous that some guests took up space with trailers. And I was told not to park in the loading zone only to find cars parked there a few hours later. Not very impressive. Room service needs attention communication and the coffee was cold three times at breakfast no other compaints. Definately did not like the parking facility. Had to park in 'extended parking', very inconvenient and frustrating.Access controll system not 100%.Had to reprogram card thrice before entering room. We are not sure if one of the cleaning ladies stole money from my wallet. About r700, I was very upset about this. VERY noisy as its too close to the road. Bathroom not very elegant with shower and toilet very close to bedroom. I struggled to find the parking area. I DIDNT LIKE THE TWO SINGLE BEDS OR THE OPEN PLAN BATH ROOM INTO THE ROOM. Mostly noise overnight. Noise is a real problem. Rooms on the road side suffer from car noise: especially given the amount of cars with load exhausts and sound systems. -Lack of privacy in some of the rooms,between bedroom and bathroom areas. -Lack of cupboard space for longer stays. The last day I was not happy the way they handled us because we make arrangement to leave @ 12 midday but some guy harassed us it realy pissed me off. The room we were given were just not conducieve below the window was bash. We had to request the Manager to report no one could sleep in that situation. But the management was polite and co-operative they changed the room but it was not the same suit we would like to sleep in. We were really upset. price high. the shower did not empty properly and this flooded the bathroom with water. Unfortunately there was a Durban July After Party opp the hotel and we had pounding music until 2:00 am!.
