  Authentic Japanese ryokan/spa with tatami room with private toilet and sink, public bath and spa on the premises. Half-board plan with breakfast and dinner in the dining room: excellent, beautifully presented dishes. The staff was outstanding, particularly Koishi, fluent in English and quick to respond to special requests. We stayed at another hot... 别人怎么说 » el the night before, and Koishi agreed to pick us up upon checkout from there, bring us and our luggage to Yamaku, and keep our luggage until their co - Yamakyu was wonderful. A very welcoming and relaxing ryokan with an excellent evening meal and great Japanese breakfast, and no diffi\culty adapting these for a vegetarian diet. On leaving, our host offered to drive us to the station (depite it being only a few minutes walk), and he very kindly arranged to send forward an item that we had left in the room - at no charge. We could not have asked for better. Thanks to all for a lovely stay.

  This is a well run cozy traditional Japanese-style hotel. Clean and surprisingly quiet tatami-floor rooms and two well-kept onsen (traditional hot baths) are excellent for relaxation.   Don't worry about the location, The owner will drive you to Takayama Station. The location near the river is terrific. Grilled Hida beef at food stall (400yen per stick) by the river at the morning market is excellent. - The Spa was the standout! But Iguchi-san was wonderful and the acommodations terrific!

  Super friendly young Japanese couple run the place. Their English is excellent. They gave me a map and circled all the key places to visit and things to eat. They let me store my pack there until check in. They cooked a traditional Japanese meal, 'nabe' I think it was called...super yummy and heaps to eat...it was ¥300 towards cost of food if want... 别人怎么说 » ed to be involved and it was fantastic. Absolutely would recommend this place. Location close tobus, train, and main sights. Easy to find location, wa - Great location, warm & friendly owner. Nice to mingle with other travellers too in living room which is full of information. The recommended eating places are awesome & I also liked the onsen/hot spring they have recommended. It's such great relaxing, rotenburo with nite view after a day walking. I will definitely stay here again if I come to Takayama.
